What is the relationship between the spot price of Gold and the PRPFX closing price (or any mutual fund that holds bullion/coins for that matter)? Gold rallied late in the trading day yesterday, but was not reflected in the closing price of PRPFX. Today, the spot price of gold during COMEX trading hours is up 1%+ and I expect PRPFX to reflect this increase accordingly.
I have noticed similar behavior with spot price increases and the NAV of the GLD ETF. To use the example above, GLD is flat to down while the spot price of gold is up $16/oz.
