Starting a Family Heirloom

Starting a Family Heirloom
With my dad gone I've decided to start a family heirloom. To preface this, my father was quite taken with the idea of growing our family wealth through time, even inter-generationally.

I've just purchased the above pendant with the letter "e" engraved on it. The circular shape of the pendant is to represent family. (It also helps that the circle is a rather sacred shape in mathematics and geometry.) The "e" engraved represents euler's number, which is the base of the natural logarithm. It's a number that naturally arises out of the study of compound interest. This is obviously relevant to a family heirloom that is to represent our wealth.
It's 14K gold and looks rather gorgeous.
I will wear it and pass it down to my future children as our family fortune grows!

Your use of the plural has highlighted a major issue with your particular plan as well as intergenerational wealth in general. How will you pass this item to more than one person?
Re: Starting a Family Heirloom
By correcting my use of children to child.

Seems like you and your Dad were close.
Maybe you have a pipe that he smoked or something. Or a wristwatch.

His wristwatch (which I haven't been able to figure out how to work properly) is on my wrist as we speak!

ha! You might be able to find a manual online. That’s what I did with a watch that i thought was my late father-in-law’s but turned out to be my ex-wife’s.

Ha!
My left hand is out of control now. Gold and silver rings and then my watch along with my late father's watch.
