Tyler hits it out of the park - again!

IMHO this new post on Portfolio Charts is one to bookmark and share. It's by far the best piece on gold I've ever read.

Yeah, awesome article! It answered a couple of questions I had about gold.

In other, but related, news: Paul Tudor Jones Buys Bitcoin as a Hedge Against Inflation, more detail here. Bitcoin was not around when Harry Browne created the PP, but I start to wonder now if adding it is a good idea?

I agree. It's a great primer for those looking for a quick FAQ on gold. Honestly, it should probably be pinned at the top of the gold forum.

IMO Bitcoin has no place in the PP for reasons discussed ad nauseum in other threads. It is strictly a speculative play and one that I have chosen to pass on.

Well, people change their minds. PTJ also hated bitcoin, but not anymore. And this is not some average investor.

I figured the crew here would enjoy that one. :)

It took a while to put together, but I admit it's kinda nice to finally document everything. I'm glad to hear it makes sense!

That's easy: no.
If you want it in your VP, go right ahead.
It doesn't have 1/10th of the track record needed to determine how it would behave in different economic environments.

The analogy about the individual bullets not causing harm because Neo understood the big picture was profound.

I imagine your comment is probably meant for this similarly-titled thread, but thanks! I do like how it captures the right mindset.
