iShares® iBonds® Dec 2023 Term Treasury ETF

Is anyone familiar with this fund or understand it?

iShares® iBonds® Dec 2023 Term Treasury ETF

It appears to be a 1 year duration treasury fund with a .07% expense ratio. I stumbled across it looking for the shortest duration treasury fund I could find with a reasonable expense ratio.

The description and name of the fund is all kinds of confusing. It isn't a treasury direct i bond and it makes me wonder if it is dissolving in December 2023 based on description of it's holdings.

It would be nice if it really is a 1 year duration treasury fund with only .07% expense ratio but I am skeptical.

Digging a little deeper this looks like a pretty cool product.

The funds do dissolve and pay out at their maturity date.

What are iBonds ETFs?
iBonds exchange-traded funds (“ETFs”) are an innovative suite of bond funds that hold a diversified portfolio of bonds with similar maturity dates. Each ETF provides regular interest payments and distributes a final payout in its stated maturity year, similar to traditional bond laddering strategies. However, the funds’ unique structure is designed to help investors easily build bond ladders with only a handful of funds.

They are cool, but last time I checked a little pricey in terms of management fee

I am pretty familiar with these defined maturity funds from Ishares and Invesco. I use them quite a bit for known expenses in the future.
