I'm looking at this page, Fixed Income tab, and I see a lot of commission-free treasury ETFs: SHV, SHY, IEF (7-10 year notes), etc. I don't always remember exactly what fund belongs to what family, but I thought IEI was on that list, and it's not. (3-7 year notes).
I was about to buy some for S.W.I.M.*, and was warned that there would be an $8.95 (or $7.95?) commission, just as if I were buying Apple shares. There's not enough money in her account to warrant anything but free trades.
Is this new, or has IEI never been free?
*This is how young people say Someone Who Isn't Me, although it's usually to avoid the risk of arrest, e.g. "SWIM tried mushrooms the other day.."

Chatted online with Fido. They didn't have much to say except sorry.
