The Permanent Portfolio holds 25% of its allocation in long term US Treasury bonds. There is an extensive FAQ on the subject here:

Are these FAQs up somewhere? The link is broken ("This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine.")

It's funny you should ask about this just now. A member here has just provided an archive of the FAQs and podcasts from the old Crawling Road website. We're working on making them available. Stay tuned!

It's like hearing your favourite band making a comeback!!!
I still find the James Rickards portfolio fascinating.

Sorry about the delay here, everyone. I've made some effort to acquire crawlingroad.com, and it's a slow process. After a long delay I finally heard back, and offered $100 for it. Haven't heard anything since, but that might just be the normal delay for whoever it is who owns it. Or, I wasn't even close to what he thought it was worth. Hard to say.

I did scoop up crawlingroad.org so I may just put it there.

I would love to read and listen to them, I never have.
