The Next Cancellation Target: Dr. Seuss
Maybe this means UC San Diego will be pressured to rename its iconic Geisel Library?
Oh it’s gonna happen, Tortoise.

Btw, in the comments of that wsj article, someone mentioned the targeting of Bon Appetit magazine because a non-Jewish woman wrote a recipe for Jewish pastries (Purim hamantashen). That was in pre-woke 2015, but Bon Appetit is fixing it as part of their Archive Repair Project. yikes.
I guess this falls under the wokist charge of cultural appropriation.

Oh my gosh, forget the two above; they’re nothing! They led to this one, and it’ll make your blood boil.

Just use Reader View on a tablet or phone. They haven’t learned to block that.

Grocery Stores In Los Angeles Closing Over “Hero Pay”

The county mandated an extra $5/hour which will cost Kroger $20M, so they just decided to close a bunch of stores.

When will the pols realize they can't force rules without consequences?

Answer: never :-(
Despite what appears to be a huge increase in gross earnings by grocery stores, the actual net earnings were way down, as operating costs were way up. Earnings for grocery stores have always been tight. COVID didn’t erase that, even with the binge purchasing. Mandating an extra $5 an hour for all employees is a massive increase in operating costs. And some stores have a smaller margin than others, especially in areas where theft is high

A friend local to Los Angeles is starting a boycott of the Kroger stores that closed.

This is another thing I don't get. Why would stores open in high crime areas, particularly when they get no help from the city because of idiotic things like bail reform and defunding of police?

It looks like Cuomo is being thrown under the bus.

Cuomo's popularity was likely a threat to Kamala Harris, so he's gotta go.

Mostly they don't. This is why there's so much squawking about "food deserts" in slums where there are no grocery stores, only bodegas selling potato chips and malt liquor. So some blue districts/states passed enterprise zone legislation, where they offer effectively tax subsidies to stores willing to open in those areas. It all depends on whether the costs of the crime outweigh the subsidies. Either that, or on whether the franchisee is an idiot, which they probably are for taking that bait.

Very interesting. Sophie, you are very well rounded. How do you pick all this up when you’re working all day!
Going to read more about food deserts at strongtowns...

IMO, Cuomo's #metoo troubles are a complete red herring. "They" don't want a lot of questions being asked about how Democrat governors handled the Holocoughs, especially WRT nursing homes. If Cuomo is pinned on his fuck ups, then several more governors might get put under the microscope too.
"You haven't, I suppose, ever mixed with politicians at close quarters. They're awful. I think some of these must have been the dregs anyhow, but I've discovered, what previously I didn't believe possible, that politicians behave in private life and say exactly the same things as they do in public. Their stupidity is inhuman.

Too late. Whitmer (D-MI) is already being investigated for the same thing. Hopefully, they'll get Pritzker (D-IL), too.

Cuomo is being driven out by progressives because they want to have control of the tens of billions of dollars that will be incoming from Washington. It's a bonanza for them and they want to use it for their social experiments.

Bring on the $15 minimum wage! If it passes, buy stock in this company immediately.

If flippy becomes "a thing" then it will bring more jobs, new different types of jobs. Like software developers, electrical engineers (perhaps ones who specialize in old tech like 5G modems when the new 6G rolls out and puts them out of a job), maintenance crews, etc.

But it does show the need for a UBI because not everyone can "learn to code" even some of those deprecated 5G engineers might struggle to learn the new OS of automated flippers.

New Project Veritas video shows a producer self pwning the shit out of himself and CNN while on fake Tinderdates. It's obviously not surprising, but it's funny.

He also lets slip that they're going to be fearmongering climate, so that's good to know AND KNOWLEDGE IS POWER GI JOOOOOEEEE

I assumed everyone knew CNN was propaganda so the scariest part is if most of the public didn't.

Concerning how Twitter banned o'keefe for posting the story.

Not sure how long youtube will allow sky news australia story about it.
