Free Speech vs A Fist

Post by stuper1 »

Here's a great article about the stupidity of US foreign policy: [url]https://www.caitlinjohnst.one/p/modern- ... mostly/url]

She asks a great question. If I want to exercise my right to free speech by calling someone a racial epithet, should I be surprised when I get punched in the face? Do I now get to display my moral outrage at having my free speech rights trampled on?

Of course in Ukraine, it's not us getting punched in the face; it's the Ukrainian "volunteers" who are dying by the hundreds of thousands. But we get to exercise our right to move our militaristic alliances right up to the border of a major power.

I'm sure if another major power wanted to move their militaristic alliances right up to our border, and wanted to put their missiles right across from our border, we wouldn't try to punch them in the mouth.
