Crazy. It's like in In the Line of Fire except without Clint Eastwood, right down to the homemade gun. As Kennedy said, "All a man needs is a willingness to trade his life for mine."

However it fell far short for all the multiple attempts to kill Hitler.

It seems from reading many of the recent posts on several threads that a lot of people have lost faith in the government. What's next? Apathy, escapism, fix it, revolution, bend over and take one for the Gipper, bitch more, put your faith in something that is everlasting, something else, ....... ?

Just my humble opinion:

Im thinking a red wave because most Americans cannot afford a house, invest money safely, save any money (inflation), send their kids to an affordable college, do not have more than a tiny amount saved for retirement (I've heard 40k), pension funds close to collapse, etc, etc...But the Roe v. Wade being overturned thing could be a monkey wrench in the red wave.

And there are a few pro-life women.

A poll asked if I'd be ok with my CA tax dollars being used to bring women here for abortions. I said sure, grind em up we need stem cells.

Newsom spent $100,000 on DeSantis' opponent, instead of using that money to help Californians

And don't forget the greatest inside trader of them all Paul Pelosi. The dems are having a "let them eat cake" moment right before they get sent off to the guillotine.

@joypog is talking about the recently ousted British Prime Minister. I believe it was the shorted tenure in British history.

Also it’s interesting to watch everyone freak out in Europe about skyrocketing prices of fuel etc, etc… When this could be forseen at the beginning of the NATO response to Russia.

Her tenure may have been short, but she served more monarchs than anybody in the past 70+ years!

Thanks, my brain was locked on the US variety Liz. Wonder what she's going to do after Congress?

I read something the other day about an ETF that is in the planning that mirrors Nancy Pelosi's trades. It will trade under the ticker NANC and seek to achieve the remarkably good returns that Nancy has achieved in her investments (!).
Not that the Dems are alone in this. ETF KRUZ will seek to do the same with the stunning track record of Ted Cruz.
If you can't beat them, join them I guess.

I twice listen each week to the five Sunday News shows. I've heard her interviewed several times on those shows. My memory says that she responded to that question by saying she's going to work on making sure Trump does not get re-elected.

Today from one of yesterday's shows I heard Karl Rove (must have been the Fox News Show) say that the Democrats in 2024 would not be having an 82 year old candidate while the Republicans would not be having a 78 year old candidate.

One could only hope. However, never underestimate either party's ability to nominate a crap candidate for president.
