Speaking as a previous Republican (and still free market, small government conservative with Libertarian leanings), the current GOP is just a cult for people that want to 'own the Libs'. There's a not-so-fine line between opposing poor Liberal policies and reflexively hating everything the Liberals say, and the Republicans jumped across that not-so-fine line about 10 years ago.

comments / questions from a Texas man who is around 90% republicans.

Liberals want gays to have right to marry. Republicans anti-gay marriage! - Do you know Republican's in your life that believe this?...or just repeating a liberal media mantra?

Liberals want women to have right to choose to get an vaccine. Republicans anti-choice!? ;)

Liberals wants people to be free from gun violence. Republicans anti-gun control. -flip it- Republicans want to be free from government gun violence towards their 2nd amendment rights. Liberals anti-Rights!

Liberal School Boards want to ask students to wear masks in schools. Republicans anti-mask! - Science - masks largely ineffective. Liberals anti-Rights!

Scientists discovered ground-breaking vaccine for COVID. Republicans anti-vaccine! Science - vaccine ineffective against spread. Liberals anti-Rights!

Liberals want freedom from dying of COVID. Republicans are anti-lockdowns. Why only covid? 98.2% survival rate.... Liberals anti-Rights!

Not sure what Republicans are anymore, but conservative would not be it. Both parties represent a pool of factions and their principles are whatever the factions want/think.

As opposed to the Libs who think ALL Republicans are Nazis. ::)

If Lib policies weren't so poor, they wouldn't have to be pwned.
Not defending either party. We're in a world of hurt because our two party system seems to be bound and determined to search the USA far and wide to find the ABSOLUTE TWO WORST CANDIDATES to square off every 4 years, with a whole cast of blowhard lackeys (like my own 'rep', MTG) on the undercard midterm elections. I honestly don't know if things have changed, or if it's always been this way andthe scales have just fallen from my eyes after reaching ~30 years of age about a decade ago.

Agree…..the statement “If voting made a difference it would be illegal” is manifesting truer and truer. Should be socially acceptable to not comprise your integrity and pick the lesser of two evils.

I can speak from experience that it is not socially acceptable. My family has practically disowned me over the last 4+ years for not supporting or voting for Trump, and in their mind it automatically makes me a socialist Biden supporter. The truth of the matter is I've voted for neither major party, and basically my stance is 'give me somebody with just a smidgen of competence because these two clowns ain't cuttin it'.

I had no personal issues voting for Tulsi Gabbard. There was no way I would vote for that election's Democrat or Republican.
