Whatever happened to ISIS?

Post by SomeDude » Sun Jun 06, 2021 1:54 pm

They were the big boogeyman 4.3 years ago, set to take over the world.

Where did they go?

Trump crushed them. But we aren't allowed to talk about it or give him credit for anything, so why are you bringing this up? :o

How about that caravan from the south in the fall /winter of 2018 that was such a national danger that Trump sent troops to the border?

Then the day after the November 2018 election we never again heard a peep from Trump about that particular national danger.

It isn't just ISIS. It seems like most of the terrorists have very considerately halted operations while we were getting COVID under control.

This would have been a better joke on any group other than an Arab one ;D

I think a significant factor is how much American media companies care to report on. Islamists in general are still up to constant, smoldering no-goodness, but it doesn't make the news too much anymore. For instance, in the last week:
Suspected jihadists massacred at least 160 civilians, including around 20 children, in a village in Burkina Faso’s volatile north, the deadliest attack since Islamist violence erupted in the West African country in 2015, local officials said Sunday.

The slaughter in the early hours of Saturday followed the slaying of 14 people late Friday in the village of Tadaryat in the same region where jihadists linked to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State have been targeting civilians and soldiers. link
Maybe Americans have really reached their limit? *shrug*

Remember Biden's earpiece's inauguration speech, white men are the greatest threat to democracy.

The earpiece was right. We are the only hope against the evils of democracy.

I wonder whether MBS had anything to do with it.

> The real problems today are the Israelis in the Middle East

This narrative shift surprised me. Beware the Woke Mob you create...

I'd like to see the Mob go after factory farming. Such low hanging fruit: carbon emissions, water use, an enormous breeder reactor for "novel" viruses and antibiotic resistant bacteria. But then, they might have to make actual changes in their own lives
