Since you asked, juxtaposing is putting one thing next to another; they are seen together at the same time. Transposing is more like switching or flipping.

In my accounting world transposed does mean as you say.

Instead of correctly inputting 8754 one incorrectly inputs 8745, "transposing" the last two digits.

By the way, one can often determine this is the error if the expected answer is different from the "transposed" number by some factor of 9.

However, as a former accordion player I am also familiar with Maddy's world, wherein you take written music in one key and then transpose all the notes to another key. I was not at all good at that.
