Probably wise Because there are wild swings (much like my wife's emotions), I am letting it ride.jan van mourik wrote: Dualstow, it's called "trailing stop order" :-)
If I had invested 8K instead of eight hundred, I'd probably have a limit sell order in place.
Re: Tesla Motors
I'm only saying that because I made that mistake with Netflix. I sold a bunch at $180 to take a profit. Smart move eh!

I know Netflix is high now, but short of a crystal ball, it's not a dumb move. Ya'never know.jan van mourik wrote: I'm only saying that because I made that mistake with Netflix. I sold a bunch at $180 to take a profit. Smart move eh!

Re: Tesla Motors
10% haircut today. Thanks for opening your big mouth, Elon Musk.
Re: Tesla Motors
According to the talking heads the large drop today in high fliers like Tesla is simply big money managers freeing up cash to purchase Alibaba on Friday. So Friday might be a good time to buy more Tesla or Facebook or Amazon or Netflix, etc.

Well, you could do a lot worse than Tesla. Even I'm a fan of Musk now. If Tesla makes it, it will literally change the world. You don't get many opportunities like that in a lifetime.dualstow wrote: Oh dear lord

Tesla took a big hit today. Revision in sales guidance. It was bound to happen.

Oh well, it's going to be a wild ride anyway.
Dollarwise, it's so small thatthe answer is never. I will never sell the shares. They'll probably go to my wife or nephew in 2070 or whenever I croak.

After the insane compensation package they voted for their boss, I would never own this stock.

Re: Tesla Motors
Ok. It's time to talk about the elephant in Tesla's living room, Elon Musk. Everyone is entitled to an off day. We all have moments when we want to scream because life is unfair, or whatever. But I think Musk's pattern of erratic behavior has reached the point where reasonable people are justified in wondering if this guy doesn't have some issues of a more serious nature. I have never had any position in Tesla. But if I did, I think I would be heading for the exit after this... https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/07/tesla-s ... -exit.html. I don't want to psychoanalyze the guy, but I can say as a layman, that his recent conduct is not normal and I have lost confidence in his ability to run the company. And to move off from Tesla for a moment, who wants to be the first guy to climb into space ship built by a dude who video records himself smoking left handed luckys? It looks like Elon has found a faster and cheaper way to get into orbit.

You have good instincts. Something weird has been going on with him since summer.

We're Probably Living in a Simulation, Elon Musk Says...

I am starting to wonder if he isn't in the early stages of going full blown Charlie Sheen... i.e. some kind of breakdown.

Re: Tesla Motors
Breaking news... Tesla and Elon Musk are reportedly being accused of fraud by the SEC. Not sure if this is civil or criminal. I don't usually cheer for government regulators but in this case I think some kind of formal response was absolutely required.

Is this from the “taking it private” tweet? I thought that was old news, Ad. Or is the accusation more serious now?
