Time to Trim Apple / AAPL?

Post by dualstow »

In the long term, it’s probably never a good time to trim AAPL.
But, I’m doing it anyway, following the old ‘sell on the news’ adage.

My excuse is also that I own it through index funds and Berkshire B shares.

Why be overweight unless you know something markets dont. And the news/narrative on Apple is negative this week, it would be time to buy.

But if I buy then I’ll be overweight.

I like to think that if I include more apples in my diet I might not be overweight anymore.

Thanks. As soon as I saw the Topic title again this morning I told myself that someone needs to make some food related comment. And, there you did!

Did you write down all the reasons you wanted to trim AAPL.

I do find that helpful... just in case AAPL doubles in value going forward.... you will be able to answer the "what the F was I thinking" question.

That would probably be a wise thing to do! Of course it’s going to double eventually; it’s a juggernaut. O0
Instead, I rationalized that I own enough through both the broad index and Berkshire. I’ve trimmed more than once in the past year, but I’m still overweight AAPL. Still hold some shares.
