Any sector undervalued?

Post by SomeDude » Sun May 16, 2021 8:01 pm

I'm having a liquidity event in July and will have about $120k to invest.

Last Nov it was obvious that oil stocks were way undervalued. I dropped about $70k onto XLE at $29 and I'm up 90% when you count dividends. First time in my life i got the timing right.

Anything look undervalued to anyone right now?

So if nothing is undervalued against the dollar, does that mean the dollar itself is undervalued?

That would be my conclusion.

Having said that, i think gold is solidly undervalued still so I'll probably add some ounces it still is. Maybe 30 or 40.

A liquidity event is always exciting. Congratulations!

At whatever size, I would just hold it in fiat or metal for at least 6 months. Emotions are crazy things and it is pretty exciting to see the fruits of your labor. Spend a bit on taking the wife out to dinner and then make the big decisions six months down the road.

Again, a sincere congratulations.

Thanks Murphy. I've got about 2,000 oz, all kinds of variety. Can't seem to find anything under $31 now but that is probably still a bargain.

Do you buy individual miners or sil?

No sil

Paas is a significant holding
Wpm ... Conservative holding
HL

I've actually replaced a very significant part of my PP gold with various gold and silver miners in the last few months.

Supposedly gold and silver miners, as murphy said. I'm only hearing it second hand but the case was convincing. Low P/E's, paying dividends, and they are known to be volatile stocks.

Just listening to this kitco interview now. At the start it sounds like cash is what is undervalued.
