Ha ha ha ...it looks like A total fall of more than 15k from my sale yesterday until this moment ... I show out of the 15 k drop I am down about 4K from this mornings buy , sparing an additional 11k fall.

Got lucky. Almost got to hold it for a while TLT.

so we start out monday with tlt and gld starting out almost 2k less than i sold out at yesterday ...

when i show a difference of minus 5-7k again , i will buy back in .

the last few weeks have been an insanely profitable ride in both just capitalizing on those 1-2% moves ... the money actually spends relatively short times in tlt sometimes just a day or so when it is volatile . it is in other investments when i am waiting for tlt and gld to do their thing so i can buy in .

i use a growth and income model made up of etf's so i can trade in and out when i get an opening in tlt or gld to raise the cash .

i will swap out the bond holdings for tlt and gld .

i think though the trading will slow down until phase 2 of the trade deal starts to be discussed . you really need the volatility to pull this off.

it is the sudden rise and then sudden evaporation of that rise that makes this worth doing but we don't have a lot of news left to do it except for maybe trump and his antics ..

looks like TLT will open down about 4k less than friday's sale .. if we hit 5k i will bank the 5k and rebuy what i had again .

this may be the last of the low hanging fruit though as there is not a whole lot out there to cause this kind of volatility i think ... but it did allow me to bank over 40k from just playing the TLT game as of friday and i may have it back again today if it falls a bit more without missing a beat . well except for the fact it has fallen had i just held it from where it was .. ...

Yep 8.30 I bought it again ... I was surprised it hit ,when I put it in the price was 8.37 ....I just sold it last week ... so let’s see what it brings ....it usually dips the day after I buy but then goes up a bit and I sell ......

Quite a day for tlt / Gld .... I bought everything back earlier 8k cheaper then I sold Friday and closed up on the gld /Tlt purchase by another 1400 combined total .....

The good news is my wife had no reservation about me taking some of the profit and buying a vintage 1980’s custom sonar drum set so I made an offer on it today . Hopefully the seller will come down in price .

The bad news is she wants something too , so I think she wants some pocketbook... but it’s all good ....glad we can do this

I hold gbtc for at least a 10%range ...it can move 5-6% in minutes.... I hold it until it pops. It always does .it is just so volatile.

If it dips enough I likely will add 500 more shares ,, 1500 shares is my max I would buy

Done added more shares...

MJ,

I'm confused.

I'm showing +4.24% today gain / +0.60% overall gain.

Where does the 10% come into play?

I sold around 8.50. But I never said it is up 10%..I think it was up on the day around 6%’. I cleared around 450..the 10% is the stop loss I set on it. I am at the Bronx Zoo now so I will look at the numbers later

So to recap, you're looking for 2% gain (8.30 --> 8.50) or max 10% loss.

Don't feed the bears.

I usually go for at least 2% I will average down on stuff like this and gold and tlt if it falls

There is always a pop that gets me out when you hold something like gbtc short term after a deep sell off . i only buy gbtc when it has fallen a lot . . I would never buy if it is headed higher and higher.

yesterday
I added a lot more gbtc before the close at 8.03 after it fell enough to do that . My cost was much lower than the 8.30 or so on the first buy

Remember this is 2% moves every 1 to 3 days for the most part.

so when you ask if i would risk 5-10% to make 2% ? i sure would because that is over and over over again . on an annualized basis it is very high ..

my wife and i are photography buffs ... i think i spend half my life waiting for her in some shape or form ...

she can take so many shots of the the same bird or animal it goes on for quite a while , me , 5 minutes and i am ready to move on , so i keep busy , but i hate typing on that little phone .. my one finger i use just seems to hit all the keys i don't want and that autofill can drive me nuts at times with wrong words ....i will post todays shots as soon as i finish them

If it's any consolation, I think every guy spends half his life waiting on his wife.

Now it sounds like a Seinfeld bit.

She is a very good photographer but just like a woman everything has to be just so .... me , a half dozen shots and if I didn’t nail it then on to the next ha ha .

We are usually out shooting at least an hour or two every chance we get ..we come home with a few hundred shots each and keep a dozen
