Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
So sold gbtc at a nice profit ..it rebounded well and I added the money to gold .....
currently have 1444 shares in Gld as of yesterday .
Sold the Tlt I had at a small profit so no Tlt at this point once again .
Holding about 34% in equities , mostly the fidelity insight growth portfolio and an s&p 500 index fund I had .that stays constant.
The rest is in cash and short term treasuries..only thing really absent for now is Tlt and it is kinda of a butterfly..
I do have a total bond fund , ultra short treasury fund and high yield fund in my income portfolio as well as 25% equities in that .

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Added a bit of tlt yesterday. , so I am about 1/3 Tlt , 1/3 IEF and 1/3 bnd for the bond side ...
If Tlt falls farther I can always rebalance ief or bnd in to it ...
Also rebought gbtc for another crack at crypto

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Thanks for asking .
I think we may have at least 2-4 weeks of more stressful cardio to start to get all our lung capacity back .... we feel great and do everything we normally would do around the apartment. But I am a jogger and ran 3-4 miles .....I am winded walking 4 flights of stairs .
We are in a 7 story building s o the stairs are my exercise machine

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Good to hear that you are both moving in a good direction. I had almost forgotten how good NYC apartment stairs are for legs and lungs. When living there I also got in at least four long flights of stairs in subway stations each day. And for 20-30 blocks I always preferred walking. Lastly, I chronically cut things close with regard to time, so I'd get in some sprints just trying to get places on time. Cardio through being disorganized!mathjak107 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 9:49 amWe are in a 7 story building so the stairs are my exercise machine

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
It is crazy how all the things we take for granted can be ordeals when shit happens .
I mean I would jog miles and run up those stairs every other day ....now I got up to walking 4 out of 7 flights and I am totally panting for a few minutes.
The doctor said that is from my immune system pounding the respiratory system fighting the virus and inflaming it ...we also cover everything in mucus and it can take months to clear up

Does your building have an elevator - or strictly walk-up?

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
So as much as I really did want to wait a bit longer I ended up buying Tlt so I do have a complete pp at the moment .
I think rate fears have calmed down and we are starting to see scared money in equities and gold .
I may actually hold this a bit and not trade it other than to buy any dips in assets .
So we have :
1953 shares Tlt 153.71
1740 Gld 174.42
Equities are
8228 shares fidelity contra 12.86
435 shares ivv 321.00
Cash is
1677 shares vgsh
1102 shares bil
The rest fdlxx .
Also Holding 703 shares gbtc 32.50 , I bought and sold this last week for a decent profit and rebought again .
and 1179 shares hyg at 86.41..that has been paying a nice rate of interest over the months .
Only other portfolio I hold is the aggressive fidelity insight growth model ...that is 100% equities and holds my very very long term money ...it is five fidelity growth funds .
I will add to this model on any dips

MJ,
Pardon my math, but aren't you short some stock?
"perhaps splitting tlt with lptz is a slight improvement as well as split shy with vtip"
How come you went all in with TLT as opposed to mixing with LPTZ?

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
No , that is what I paid when I bought contra , it is 16.66 today and ivv is 377.87 today..the equities I have had for a while.
I decided to stay with Tlt since it has the most ooomph usually when stocks skid .... I had bought ltpz a while ago and tlt did better

GBTC up over 10% today - are you selling?
Also, curious about HYG - Are you using for income? Holding area for play money?

So we now stand at
402,182.00 in Tlt
400,109,00 in Gld
401,000 in vgsh and Bil
401,105 in equities with:

58,527 in fidelity blue chip growth
12,185 in fidelity low priced stock fund
133,132. Ivv s&p 500 fund
Still holding a large cash position so I can average down quite a bit if need be

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Being so close to 2% I figured It was a better looking picture than when they were 50% less ...so I got back in .
Right now stocks are getting all the love but I think once stocks stumble the safety assets will flourish.
I can still average down as they fall from the 500k Mark but as of now 500k in each is about as much as I want in it ...I still have 7 figures in cash not counting the pp proxy position.
But at this point nothing interests me.. I closed out my 100% equities position the other day
