so the portfolio's were just about completed yesterday . i just did an instant xray

the permanent portfolio is a bit different as i tried to make it a little more relevant to today .

so we have :

276,343k in s&p 500 fund

275,190 split between TLT and LTPZ both bought the last 2 days after recently taking profits

275,224 in gld .

275k split between vtip and t-bill fund .

so that is it for the pp variation .

my more permanent model is:

316,141 in my long term hold fidelity contra

270,556 in a managed total bond fund

265,669 in a managed high income fund

371,997 in an ultra conservative managed bond fund

280,082 in a managed 1-3 year treasury fund

126,057 in dbc commodities fund .

i still have more cash to invest but i will keep that powder dry for now

Edit:

Just bought back Tlt at the close again . I bought it back for 1k less than I sold earlier today and it closed up 338 dollars higher than I just rebought it only minutes before

Still holding mine although fairly confident (haha) this rally is attributed to short covering. Stocks and Bonds sold off going into the election setting the framework for this response.

Well sdow was sold at the close as markets rolled back a bit . Picked up a little profit in about 20 minutes time .sdow is a leveraged reverse acting etf ..

I sold off about 100k of my s&p 500 fund today and bought the dogs of the Dow .

They were actually down today ....they are the 10 highest yielding Dow stocks ....the is a strategy that has been around for decades .

Most years it outperformed the Dow .....the idea is the worst performers tend to be the highest yielding ..expectations for them are lowered and so they tend to do better than the Dow does .

You can also buy the pups of the Dow ...those are the five highest yielding dogs with the lowest prices

If anyone is interested I can post the lists.

Tlt has been basically going down since peaking so all along the way I have been generating nice profits off the volatility

Have there been any recent photography related purchases by you and your wife due to recent investing profits?

Yes , we both bought Nikon 200-500 mm lenses ...first I got her one , then I was so jealous and she did not share that I had to get a 2nd one ....then after we got them we learned they won’t mount on our tripods without new mounting bases for 250 bucks each .

Also put new shoes on all the drums so they all got new heads and retuned and I added an new crash cymbal

I was also going to ask about new drum equipment but thought that you'd not due to lack of opportunity to play in the public (for the most part) since mid-March.

sold off gold and no more TLT at this point . gold may have more to fall . at some point i will buy it back . it shed a lot in gains so i wanted to preserve the bit that was left for 2020 . it fell over 10k in a week erasing a good part of the gains on the portion i still was holding . .

luckily i sold half of it a few weeks ago .

. TLT would have to fall to the mid to low 150's before i rebuy. it has seen one nasty slide since peaking out at the lows in rates .
