Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Lately I love Gld and Tlt ..... it has been following the script perfectly for my trading system .
I get the buy and sell signal from my ass ,, it pops in my head , I confirm with my wife and I click the mouse . Lol ..it seems to work better than most Wall Street trading systems ...I wish I wasn’t telling you the truth , but that is basically the trading system I have been using for years.
It started as fun trading but I found gold and Tlt to be almost predictable in these short up and down moves ...don’t be surprised if I am back in by next week

Got my first 1% off TLT. That was pretty easy!
Thanks, mathjak, for sharing this simple strategy!

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
i am planning on marketing a book on the system with a subscription fee , that way when i get the wife confirmation factor i send out an e-mail alert with the buy and sell signals ...
Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
I'd like the first copy but signed ;-) If not signed, then no go.
Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
I’m extremely tempted to do the same. Just put all my digital wealth into a vanguard conservative fund and hold physical gold. The simplicity of such a setup would have incredible appeal.dualstow wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 2:50 pmI sold some PHYS today. I just want to be done with "paper gold". Also, I saw your signature! I got a ride from a family member on Boxing Day!

Only the master until I am wrong .......but the idea is to make more being right then you give up being wrong
Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Well said.
It is very convenient to buy an ETF when the market is down for a day or two. Especially, if one needs this ETF in one's portfolio. Not to mention that TLT even pays dividends once a quarter. The chances that something goes wrong with this plan are minuscular.

Looks like Tlt is down at 9am by 6500 for me from Friday ....looks like I will be back in pocketing about 7k I hope again.
Gld is 04 cents higher so if I buy back Tlt I will buy back Gld too as a pair... TLT DOWN 1.27%. Just about at target

Not to any humans but to 18 pets.
I am quite happy not to live with any humans but it'd be absolutely deadly to not be living with any animals, especially the supreme animals of the world - cats.

Nope, there are three of us.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
I don’t envy those just starting to date in the #metoo era. There are some good things coming out of #metoo, obviously. It will be harder to get away with Harvey Weinstein crimes, especially over so many years. But, I think it was easier to be a teenager in the 80s, or even 90s.
There are days that I envy the simplicity and peace of the single. Those days are sometimes followed by nights where I sleep downstairs.

When I get married, people from this forum would definitely be invited to attend.dualstow wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:35 pmI don’t envy those just starting to date in the #metoo era. It's a promise I know I can keep, because in order to follow through a woman would first have to agree to marry me.

Re: mathjak's daytrading adventures
Only 3 of the 18 are cats. I've set my house limit at 3 cats (unless a Siamese or Tonkinese comes around. Then I'd make an exception to add one more). All the others are rodents. And, all, including the cats, are low maintenance.MangoMan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 7:29 pmYou sound like the male version of a crazy cat lady!
