That really is funny.

Are you shorting Peleton?

I like that the European is shown with bread, wine and cheese.

I'm not shorting it. I think European portion sizes are much smaller and they walk much more than car-locked Muricans

Europeans are ashamed to be fat.

A lot of Europeans really are fat. It seems to mainly be the French who have cracked the code, although they do suffer from heart disease.
Maybe they stay thin with the magic of Peloton.

I had heard it was because they smoked so much. Wait, does smoking make you thin or fat?

Here are some Englishmen trying to look more American:

A French woman I know felt out of place when she lived in the Chicago suburbs because she got dressed up every day and no one seemed to notice. "In France, men look at you," she said. "It brings pleasure. Even women look at you. It's not always positive, but it's an acknowledgement that you exist. You walk differently when you know someone is looking at you. It's the one thing I missed in the States. The 'look' is missing. I think it's why American women get fat."

In Bill Burr’s latest stand-up special on Netflix (a venue in London), one if his opening jokes is that he was surprised London has so many fat people living there.

Not sure about other countries, but in the U.S., weight seems to be highly correlated with income and wealth. Here in California, when I go to wealthy neighborhoods, the people walking around are usually slender, physically fit (sometimes with plastic surgery), and wearing fashionable/flattering clothes and makeup. In the middle- and lower-class neighborhoods, the people walking around are often overweight and are wearing unflattering clothes like baggy sweatpants and not much makeup.

I suspect it’s because the drive to achieve in education, income, and social status is correlated with the drive to achieve success in other areas of life as well, including physical fitness and attractiveness. There are obviously exceptions, but the general correlation seems to be there.
