Is Medium Tex in Houston?
Don't ask me how I know, but unless he's moved, I would guess Collins County, so closer to Dallas-Ft Worth than Houston.
I'll let him speak for himself for anything more specific because, you know, privacy.

If it can coincide with West Virginia in town to play the Longhorns (which I think will happen next season) then we might be able to convince Mountaineer to join too. :-)
High IQ play there, Xan.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

There were 1,286 users on the site 11/27.
Are we are now popular? Have we arrived?
I believe portfoliocharts.com has a huge following. Tyler’s site is referenced on bogleheads.
What’s our status?

We inch closer to 1,000 members. The price of gold may/may not influence the outcome.

This forum is for unusual thinkers. People who approach investing and life in a different way from the norm. I'm perfectly fine with a small cadre of friends here.

I fail every single time when I tell people about PP.

998. Two more for 1,000.
This forum took 7 and 1/4 years to get 600 members. Another 400 in only 2.5 years!
An indication of popularity or utility?
May pick up another 400 in 6 months, if things roll along well.

More internet access and more old people. It's a portfolio for retirees, those panicking during a crash, and goldbugs

My guess is that the raw member count is more influenced by the number of bots able to sign up than anything else. Maybe there's some useful way to figure out which accounts are real. Or at least exclude the accounts that have been banned for being bots from the graph of members over time.

And don't forget entrepreneurs like Craig that have lumpy income!

Three thoughts:
Will an unknown number of bots diminish the significance of getting the 1,000th member?
We are one member away from 1,000.
Will there be a Y2K-style problem if only 3 digits have been allotted to the membership total? We could go to 000 members.
Just thought I’d ask.

I viewed the increasing membership as an indicator of the popularity of Harry, his thoughts and the 4x25 portfolio.
I often wonder will this site gain greater recognition- ergo the tracking of the membership. There were a couple of thoughts expressed that a significant downturn would be the key to popularity. Too bad. Maybe a real market crusher will double the membership.
So, not important to track the numbers but I thought there could be some insights.

We got the 1,000, so I will end my preoccupation with this thread.
Cheers.
