I own an LLC. Unfortunately don't have a retirement setup yet, but I know a solo 401k is a good fit. My CPA only wants to be told what to do and won't advise me. Should I seek out a financial advisor for help with a solo 401k or are they just going to try and push their products on me?
I actually set one up through vanguard last year but got stuck because I didn't know the next steps as far as payroll goes. I trust the advice from you guys more than others. Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that 401ks are pretty complicated. I would do a SEP in your case.

I've set up an individual 401k through Vanguard before so I might be able to help.

A new i401k had to be opened by 12/31. Can contribute to existing one by tax deadline.
I suggest taking the time to figure it out. That said, I'm going to ask my CPA to figure out form 8621 for a gold fund
Dont get your hopes up about Vanguard customer support. Ask around for better CPA.
