I second the motion to gather at New Leaf at 2:00 P.M. on Sat., May 9.

A call just made to the New Leaf Restaurant confirms that they serve brunch from 11:00 to 3:30.

I will be traveling from the area of Midtown, and the distance doesn't bother me at all. If arriving by subway, it is best to check in advance the MTA Weekender website to figure out the best way to travel.

And it's not too late for Craig and/or MT to book flights from New Zealand or Texas to make a guest appearance!

The first of many, hopefully. And so the PP forum turns into a financial independence/personal freedom meetup group. :)

Nothing wrong with that!  Which city is next???

Sung to the tune of "Take the A Train"  :-)

Goodasgold etc, I went for this over midtown because it'll be a lot more civilized and you'll be able to hear yourself think.  Plus at least one person is likely to be coming by car.

I nominate Las Vegas.  The topic could be the VP, or money you could afford to lose  ;D
In a world of ever-increasing financial intangibility and government imposition, I tend to expect otherwise.

All OK.

Now listen, please.  Mulveyr, LES, if Iget that right,  expressed an interest in attending.  I understand he was/is a major influence in this site.  We, therefore, should see if he can make it.

Cheers.

I'm late to this thread, but I'd be into it.  I live in CT but work in Manhattan every week day.  A week day after 7pm works best for me, but I'd be willing to come in on a weekend as well.  I saw a few dates/times/locations thrown around, but has it been confirmed?

Yes - see a few posts back.  We picked a spot where parking is free and easy to find, i.e. right in front of the cafe, so if you are up for making the drive you are more than welcome to join!

Thanks and great idea.

Also any lurkers who want to come:  please chime in.  If the group gets much larger than 6 or 8 a reservation or at least an alert to the cafe may be in order.

One week to go.

The restaurant has a brunch until 3:30,  it appears. The omelets look good.  IF My wife accompanies, we may settle with tip for $50.

Any more thoughts?

We will take the "A" train to 190th and take the elevator up to Fort Washington Ave.  The view is really good right there and better at the park.

Cheers,

Yep, all set.

The only thing left to determine is how to settle the bill. The only fair way to do it, in my opinion, is to send our food bill to Craig R and the liquor bill to Medium Tex. Agreed, everyone?
