I recently started looking at 529 plans, including the Vanguard and Fidelity plans, which all basically look like varied blends of stocks and bonds. I live by HB's philosophy that you can't predict the future, and it's very possible that over the next decade, both stocks and bonds could do poorly (hopefully gold will go way up if that happens). I looked at some discussion threads from a couple of years ago and I didn't see anyone talking about a good 529 solution for people who like the PP and don't like the idea of investing in only stocks and bonds. Has anything changed with 529 plans recently? I am guessing the answer is probably no. Should I just skip using 529 plans completely? Tax shelters are awesome, but not if they cause you to lose money. Any advise on this topic would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Any 529 plans for PP lovers?

Are there any Gold 529 funds? Maybe you can combine them with the stock and bond 529 funds..
Or one of us might start a PP based 529 plan in the future...
