4 Economic Conditions

Post by Hal » Tue Nov 02, 2021 4:27 am

On listening to an interesting talk, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alY2QelXs_E, I was wondering what your thoughts are on how to label the axis with the best performing asset. My draft is in blue.

Thought is was impressive how he dated the points on the chart.

I didn't watch the video but that's a cool chart. I'd say yes your labels would be a good fit of the PP to that.

More likely IMO (cue Dr. Lacy Hunt) that we have disinflation or outright deflation because of debt, demographics and M2 money velocity decreasing and not staying constant, or increasing like the 70's. This is a very different animal.
Still keeping a plain vanilla HBPP though.

This is a very different animal. You can read Dr. Hunt's Quarterly Report on Hoisington for free and it's pretty amazing really. It will also let you sleep a little better at night (at least currently) for those that hold long term govt. debt instruments.
Still keeping a plain vanilla HBPP though.
