Appears a cup-half-empty guy (honestly do not have a clue who is). Thanks for sharing, had a fairly quick look, what had impressed me are the following bold statements :

Very interesting report Ochotona. Thanks for sharing!

So in the end his personal portfolio is this. A new PP for end times?

"The allocation I am personally aiming for on my total available liquid assets is 25% trading investments, 25$ cash (all dollars), 25% gold, 25% Bitcoin."

I guess it is an End of Days PP! No way would I get 25% BTC. Maybe 1%. If it's going from $7500 to $100k or $1000k why do you need 25% to begin with? Just a tiny amount of yeast leavens the dough.

I will admit I am drawn to the “doom porn” crowd and think daily of jettisoning the PP and going to cash/gold for an impending financial market collapse.

My common sense tells me that a population that wants endless “free” stuff and politicians determined to give it to them will not end well. But then MMT people like Cullen Roche convince me that modern economics is much more complicated than I comprehend (ie govt debt is private sector wealth) and that I should not be worried.

As in all things the truth is usually somewhere in the middle. People have been peddling "doom porn" for ages. I mean there are plenty of people out there that have died waiting for the imminent collapse of the dollar and the U.S. financial system for their entire lives. Is there something to worry about? Sure. Is the world going to collapse tomorrow? No. Are there going too be repercussions from the actions of the government? Sure. Are these repercussions going to happen tomorrow? No. Are these repercussions going to bring the whole system down when they do show up? Unlikely.

These big macro themes play out over many generations. It's possible, probable even, that you will die without ever seeing this doom porn scenario play out. That things will somehow continue to march on as they always have. That there will be temporary bumps on the road, as there always is. But that on the whole American society and economy will continue to adapt and progress, the same as it always has.
