Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

The Arnold book is really good. If it's at your local library, I highly recommend you check it out. Based upon that recommendation if I see it there I will do so. I was at my local library yesterday and was shocked to see the Elon Musk book which I grabbed (along with about 9 others). Lucky! My loc...

Given equal fees, I actually think that an active factor fund is better than an indexed factor fund. The active fund can't be front run and can engage in better patient trading.

I'll tell you EXACTLY fucking why.

Because literally the day before I sold off a huge chunk of gold (long story).

Yeah. Fuck.

Re: The Bond Market Sweet Spot

I think the escape velocity concept has merit. More broadly, I think that the Rational Reminder episode on bonds really highlighted how adjusting one's position based on what's actually being offered by credit spreads and the yield curve makes sense. The issue is that these things require time, expe...

Thanks for this.

What's the "conventional conservative portfolio" you used?
Just the portfolio labeled as "Conservative Portfolio" included in Portfolio Visualizer as a default option. It appears to be a globally diversified portfolio of stocks and bonds at 40/60.

Re: The Bond Market Sweet Spot

Yeah I wonder what Craig and Tex would be saying today. One of the reasons why the PP performed so admirably the last time we were in a comparable period was because gold went through the roof. The world may be different, and Browne is not here to update his philosophy. As per Saifedean Ammous, gold...

Re: Alright who’s hitting rebalancing bands?

I had money out of the market for a while due to some real estate stuff happening. And then I switched to a new strategy where my allocations were "reset" to the original 4 x 25%. So I never did end up hitting that rebalancing band.

If you, me, and Dualstow were either partners or owners of a Sub S corporation the K-1's tell us what we should be putting on our respective tax returns as our portion of the total tax results of either entity.
