Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
Glenn Greenwald had an insightful article today, which I admit I only skimmed, on the topic of how the elites get to be mask free while they are attended to by masked peons, photo'd by masked photographers, etc. Specifically at various political and left wing galas, but it's probably similar at righ...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
Here is a CDC article about children. One interesting tidbit found in the paragraph preceding the "Discussion" heading: A total of eight in-hospital COVID-19–related deaths in persons aged 0–17 years occurred during August 2020–August 2021 (0.4% of hospitalized patients). 8 kids dying in ...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
Well the slope of the Florida 7 day average deaths curve (I looked at a few sites) is heading downward at about a 60 degree angle. We just don't know where it will bottom, but a normal chart interpretation would suggest it is indeed crashing. I still say (hope) that this time will be the charm, so t...

Re: The GOLD scream room
What a useless asset. I’ve held for 10-12 years and doubled my money. Selling today. A CAGR of 6-7%? That doesn’t sound so bad. The problem is the opportunity cost. Over that time I would have quadrupled my money. You should have mega remorse for not loading up on Bitcoin 10-12 years ago.

Boys more at risk from Pfizer vax than from Covid: Study:

I don’t think I would be rushing to get my own kids vaccinated.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
Getting COVID is a much higher risk for getting blood clots than taking the vaccine That's probably bad math. Because, the odds of getting COVID are not 100%. I don't know all the numbers but if risk of clots is 3x higher from Covid than from the vax, but the chance of getting Covid is 10%, then th...

No, I don't know how VG proposes to handle any of it. I don't know if we are interested but it would be nice to know more. I should look into it at some point. I wouldn't view it as part of the pp at all. More like a business investment.

I'm suspicious of Biden's motives, but so far I have to strongly applaud his stated explanations for getting us out of there, and his disdain for remaking nations in our image. And of course Lindsay Graham is very angry. https://babylonbee.com/news/republican-politicians-vow-to-get-real-mad-and-stuf...

In general, I have developed my own strategy for buying cryptocurrency. I do not buy an expensive cryptocurrency like bitcoin and so on....

Re: 50 years of dollar as fiat currency
Yes under this system we have experienced some novel, spectacular financial crashes. And what do they do? More more more. It’s one of those things in which “more more more” works until it doesn’t. Then it will be very bad.

You have to pick your risks with holding gold. I am still planning to get going on the overseas thing. Per someone's review here, I am looking into SWP Cayman. I like what I see. Is there risk? Yes. So if I do it, it will only be a portion that I can afford to lose.

kbg, are you taking the position that the government hasn't devalued our money, or that they have but it's fine? Yes they have and it's ok but not great by any means. I am taking the position that a hard fixed currency system is heinously bad during a severe recession or depression and far worse ov...

In Melbourne AUS, I don't think you can work out outside. Even with a mask. Hal would know. Mark me down as saying we are on the way out of this when the current surge burns out. What makes you think there won't be another 'surge'? And then another. Think how influenza works, year in and year out. ...

Re: BTC in the PP
I don’t get the government malfeasance stuff. Inflation is not simply a function of money supply. It must be combined with actual goods scarcity to occur and I can’t think of any historical event where the scarcity had anything to do with the currency. Everything for the past 13 years demonstrates ...

I wouldn’t call it sticking it to the government. More like protection against government malfeasance regarding money.
