According to the Detroit Free Press article "According to the court filings, the IRS claims Dehko skirted rules that deposits greater than $10,000 be reported by making many smaller deposits."

Re: Rethinking Neville Chamberlain

I think that more than inaction and pacifism Chamberlain is symbolic of naïveté in foreign affairs. He is famous for, upon his return, waving the pact with with Hitler and exclaiming "We have achieved peace in our time"

Re: Feds Seize Family Grocery Store’s Entire Bank Account

There's got to be more to the story than this.  Even if this is what actually happened, there must be more to it. Possibly but the IFJ is careful about cases they take on. I stumbled on it while reading about a friend of mine's case they took on (and won today) http://www.ij.org/stifling-citizen-sp...

Not sure moda but we should take a look at what Sweden, Austria and Germany are doing. Anyone know what's happening there to account for for their trend-bucking?

Yes, but who thought that the "mediator" would turn out to be Vladimir Putin? And who knew that Obama would secretly agree to let Iran off the hook and keep their nuclear program for obtaining the figleaf of removing Syria's chemical weapons? Why Reub, I can't predict EVERYTHING. If I cou...

Re: Will Obama Try To Make Himself A King?

I think it's an interesting question. The president has vast powers after declaring a state of emergency. He doesn't have another term to run for so it's certainly possible. I think they'll do a deal at the last second or within a couple days. I'd rather see them close up shop though and stop borro...

I think what you're saying is Ron Paul's and Buchanan's opinion, namely that if it weren't for our support of Israel then Islamists would not have any hostility towards us. Actually this was refuted by OBL himself.  His main beef was US troops in "holy" Saudi Arabia.  Besides which, Israe...

Re: How Foolish Is This Administration?

Your guiding principle in such conflicts is to use the military to push back the terrorists long enough to win over the local population with a nation building exercise. This program has never worked out for the United States, but that doesn’t mean that generations of military leaders don’t insist o...

Even ultra liberals like the president have come to understand that drone strikes at the terrorists wherever they may be is an effective pre-emptive defense against homeland attacks.  Clinton's passivity led to 9/11.

Re: Peter Schiff Was Right (again)

Nobody produces something unless they think that there is a demand for a product. It would be pretty dumb to produce something that didn't have any demand. You can't just produce smelly socks and wait for demand to pick up. People start businesses to meet the demand for something that people need o...

Benko is exactly right. We are in denial.  The fact that you seem to want to believe that it is "just a few radicals" completely ignores realty: - The Government of Iran - The Defacto Government of Lebanon - Half of the Government of Saudi Arabia - Up until a few months ago, the Governmen...

The same cannot be said for the wide open Arizona border I don't know anything about things out there.  What about the sheriff out there who is always in the news?  Is he actually doing anything helpful in stemming the flow of illegals? The border sheriffs have been sued into submission by the feds...

You can use the same arguments about Obamacare but they rammed it through against the wishes of the insurance industry, big pharma, the AMA etc. Your point about the average person not being able to nurse a 401k nest egg is absolutely true and that's where they will start...with a convincing argumen...
