Why is IAU significantly trailing the gold spot price
IAU price is 15.61 and the gold spot is 1624. Are they having a hard time keep up with the volatility of gold at the moment? I hope this ETF stays solid because my 401k did not really have any for physical gold ownership.

Gold Dealer questions
I want to start buying gold and having it stored by the dealer itself. I want the most reputable business with the longest history. I am having trouble because they seem to be alot of these dealers. I want something as stable and secure as Perth Mint, which is one of my options. I'm a little wary of...

Just some other quick differences between GLD and IAU is their expense ratios as well their custodians. GLD’s custodian is HSBC and IAU I believe is JP Morgan.

I think I bonds at treasury direct are still at 2.22 percent. You can purchase 10k per family member.

Interesting Kevin. I’ve thought about rebalancing closer to the HBPP as well, instead of doubling down on stocks at this moment.

Re: A CombiBar Thread
These bars are in high demand and I figure they will also be very easy to resell. Plus they are super cool. I think the PAMP multigrams and the maple grams wound actually be more practical in a zombie apocalypse (the imminent zombie apocalypse). I believe the PAMP multigrams are in individual assays...

Re: Is there a more perfect "bunker" in light of Coronovirus?
I was thinking of dumping the entire portion of my GB stocks into cash. I am very concerned about a global depression. And was thinking that rather than watch my stock portion sink horribly I could put it in cash and buy back in on the next rebalance. I would view it as insurance basically paying th...

Re: Gold holding companies
I’m trying to figure this out myself but I have not pulled the trigger on purchasing through one of these companies yet. I just purchased IAU for my 401k. But for my long term holdings I want to find an extremely stable company overseas. Perthmint also has some very interesting programs. I think you...

Thank you, MediumTex, and Tyler! I am so happy I found this forum and your book. I put my 401k into the GB. I wish I could have done the same with my taxable portfolio but the tax implications would have been a major hit. Now, I can ride out my my losses in the taxable account over many years while ...

Re: Realistic Expectations for Long Bonds
I feel like the spaceship is going warp speed through an asteroid belt at the moment. She's holding together but I've definitely got white knuckles holding on. I keep thinking about selling some of the stock portion ahead of my rebalance band or rebalance period in order to spare an (unnecessary) do...

Re: THE ALLEGORY OF THE HAWK AND SERPENT
I found another long volatility fund that charges 1% management fee and 10% incentive fee. With a minimum investment of 100k. It’s called mutiny fund (mutinyfund.com). These guys also have a podcast where they go over their entire strategy in a four part series called ”Why Mutiny”. It also turns out...

Just put in 75% of my cash into 1 and 2 month t-bills auction for the tenth. I am going to put in an order for the rest at the next 3 month t-bill auction. (Auto-roll)

Re: Fidelity - SHV BIL or TBILL ladder (auto roll)
I also went to totaled all my fidelity expense ratio's and realized they are siphoning off a significant chunk of money. Least of which they are charging me a large amount of money to hold cash and make it somehow risky using FDRXX (repo's). I'm going to buy t-bill at auction. Does anyone have a tho...

Interesting timing of Apmex sale
Apmex had a very good sale on the premium over spot for gold products. They were selling bars for $8 over spot. The next day the price of gold dropped significantly. Do you think they were selling cheap based on some type of market signal?

I think someone mentioned this before but I use the GB for peace of mind. It’s nice to detach from the financial economy once the GB / HBPP is in place, especially if you are middle aged.

Re: FNBGX vs. individual bonds at Fidelity
I put 75% in FNGBX and 25% in 30 year Bonds. Honestly it’s still a little confusing to me the way it’s priced and auctions, etc and I have not sold any to rebalance. But I think the best way to go is buying the direct treasury - once you figure it out. I am about to convert my entire cash portion to...
