I recall it was closed to retail investors but still open. But…if all the marketing material is gone it may have gone then it could have out of business.

I highly recommend Jeff Snider’s Eurodollar University podcast where he deep dives into yield curves and the financial and global monetary system.

Re: Tim Price discussing the HBPP in the current economy
These are answers to questions I had from Mutiny fund. 1. Our investors get a K-1 every year. 2. Example of a fee structure: our sub-managers charge their own fees. 1.5/15 would be on the high side for one of them and we charge 1/10. That would be a total of 2.5/25 in this example. All returns that ...

Also I think CTA’s zag when other zig, I believe they performed poorly for the last several years when the market essentially averages up in a tight range. But would be happy if someone sanity checked my perception.

Great reading about gold in a portfolio: https://portfoliocharts.com/2020/08/21/metal-money-and-the-measurable-value-of-gold/ In the article below, you can go do the section "All that glitters is not a good investment" but the whole article is fantastic https://portfoliocharts.com/2021/12/...

I've been buying max duration LTT's at the moment. I am going with the thesis that the yield curve inversions are telling us something significant.
Re: Fox News
I find The NY Times to be the equivalent of Fox News these days. In general I rarely pay attention to any big media right or left. I go to sites like zerohedge.

Re: The Peter Schiff portfolio: an evolutionary offshoot of the PP
Schiff is entertaining and makes great points and he often uses very simple ideas to get his point across (IMHO) but I wound not give him any money.

Gold goes up
It’s pretty interesting that it takes $1900 to buy a yellow metal coin today that cost 35 dollars not too long ago. It feels like a safe asset to put in the portfolio.

I'm also interested to know what you don't like about the Fido website as I think it's great. I just felt like the site was a little clunky and busy compared to other brokers like Schwab and etrade. But the customer service is excellent. I’m think Fido may be the winner and they have a lot of physi...

Re: Lower Spreads Versus Greater Divisibility: Which Do You Go For?
If I can get a low premium I always prefer the smaller amount (1/4 or 1/10) but 1oz coins work as well. Also I love combibars. That’s the best of all worlds.

Re: Lower Spreads Versus Greater Divisibility: Which Do You Go For?
Paper gold (low spread gold funds), converted to physical gold after a good year (PP up +8%, physical gold coin spread 4%, convert paper gold to physical gold and count it as a +7% up year. That way it feels like 'other peoples money' covered the spread). For ongoing adjustments (rebalancing), add ...

Re: Permanent Broker
Is it easy to see purchase history IE price paid date of purchase and current price. And are you able to sell specific shares? The reason I ask this is - say they have been buying VTI for 25 30 years and each purchase starts a dividend reinvestment machine of its own. This will become a monster to m...

I want to set up a stock account for my kids where we auto purchase and manually purchase mostly stocks mostly VTI and reinvest dividends. I want this to be broker that they can use forever. Re: Tim Price discussing the HBPP in the current economy
One big take away for me is that commodity trend following (CTA) is very interesting. One CTA I follow is up 30 percent in the past 12 months. Which I think is a general direction of a lot of the CTA’s.
Basically it seems like they are zigging when a lot of stuff is zagging.

Re: 2022 Returns
I just looked and I am down only 6.8 percent from the high on 3/22. This is after gold has started to move. Now I may need to rebalance! I may be close to even year to date.
I checked and the one year return and I’m down only 1.3 percent.

Direct Indexing
I heard a very interesting comment by Burton Malkiel. With direct indexing they can buy a select group of stocks that tracks the index but if a stock is down the direct indexer can sell it and buy another stock similar to tax loss harvest.

I bought 30 years at 4 and then again at 3.87. I am using a new rule for myself. It’s called go halfsies. If I’m scared to buy or sell I do around half. That gets me moving.

Also I would argue that the PP is balanced to deflation as well. Long bonds and cash.
