Re: 80-90% of your Total Savings in PP

Hello,

so for 10.000 USD or 10.000.000 USD

70 to 80% should be in HBPP

Is this right?

Thanks

Re: top limit for your INVESTMENTS

Hello,

and if the HBPP starts a long BEAR period, a DRAWDOWN during the next 20 years ?

How can we REACT?

Is there any emergency stop loss?

Best and warmest regards

Re: top limit for your INVESTMENTS

Hello all you,

if one day we achieve FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCY, the PP shall be 100% of our PORTOFOLIO?

Or we should change to a more conservative strategy,

like only CASH+BONDS?

Regards.

Re: Maximum DRAWDOWN in a HB-PP

If you reinvest dividends and rebalance on 35/15 bands, my data shows a 18.4% maximum drawdown from January 1980 to March 1980. 2008 is another interesting year because although the HBPP ended basically flat, there was a 14% drawdown from March to November of that year. 18,4 is already a big DD  :-...

Maximum DRAWDOWN in a HB-PP

Hello HB followers, I know the yearly return (profit and loses) from the past 3 decades, but I don't know what was during those years the maximum DD that HBPP had. So, for a year that had +10% could have in the middle of the year -15 ou -20% ? Can you please clear up this situation and where can we ...

VP 2010 - 25.97% 2011 -    .59% 2012 -  2.84% 3-yr average: 9.88% PP 2010 - 13.33% 2011 - 11.79% 2012 -  8.70% 3-yr avgerage: 11.24% The PP wins again.  My PP has been goosed a little by my good fortune to have the TSP G Fund and some 2000 & 2001 I Bonds as about half of the cash component.  Te...

Rebalancing every day

Hello,

what would be the result of a PP that is rebalanced very often every night or every week, considering that commissions are near to ZERO

?

Good or bad? Better or worst return?

Thank you and regards!

top limit for your INVESTMENTS

Hello I now understand more about PP and your minds, which i agree. What is for you, the limit of money that you want to reach in a PP or overall in savings. This means, when will you start to put money in other stuff a part from investments. Saving for investment has no limit? Let me know your aims...

Re: Buying real GOLD

Hi, I think you are right. Just puting all the saving is a PP, that has fluctuation, is VERY difficult. Going all CD's to PP+VP+CD it is hard for my mind, but I think I will do like that. Even in the broker applied in Assets, the money is not safe? Thank you!!! Hello, After so many years saving only...

Re: Real ASSETS

k9, fantastic explanations! a) Well, Portugal ever had higher yields than richer countries, we are used to it. Now we are being helped by IMF and BCE.     In this case the cash should be where? ALL in a foreign country, is it safe? b) You all PP lovers, make 80-90% allocation in US-PP of your total ...

Re: ALL my savings in ETF's is dangerous

Here's what I meant.  ETF - Fund Provider VTI - Vanguard TLT - iShares SGOL - ETFS SCHO - Schwab That's 4 asset classes managed by 4 separate companies. Yes, an ETF has more risk than directly holding the assets but by dividing your money across multiple ETF providers you help minimize your exposur...

Re: Real ASSETS

The problem in the text you quoted is that you now converted it back to a purely financial portfolio (stocks + REITs + bonds) :) As for 4% CDs : the problem is that CDs are not the safest asset ; they are a (relatively low) risk bond between you and the bank. In a tight-money recession, if the bank...

I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about commercial websites here, so moderators please warn me if what I'm doing is wrong, but coininvestdirect (google will give you their precise url) sells bullion coins in Europe at rather good prices (20 francs Vreneli : buy 254, sell 269, + shipping of course...
