I was close for LTTs. 16.7% But now they are going up.
Might be missing out or maybe not if Feds increase the rates again this year.
Would be nice to be able to time this but... We do not do market timing, don't we? :-)

Re: The GOLD scream room

Wow, when did gold creep up into the 1700s On the downside...bonds, stocks and gold are all moving in lock step. As of late we are getting zilch diversification. Had to bring in some shade on the little ray of light I introduced. :-) Bonds still should go down if the feds keep bumping up the rates....

What is this about? Is there some new bogus affecting our PP investments?

My grandparents were of the depression generation. I just accidentally discovered that 48oz of gold = 88,888.88 USD. 60oz is 111,11 As mathematicians say - we are in the same basket of equivalence - I am also counting hours/days to return back home from Germany, not much to do here anymore ... ;D By the way - with regards to inflation - yesterday a...

Re: Is This a Tight-Money Recession?

I take solace in the fact that markets don't always react immediately (IIRC, in March of 2020 it seemed like everything was crashing, but then bonds and gold started to come back before stocks did and it was a great time to rebalance). Patience, grasshopper! :-) Maybe it was good time to rebalance ...

Re: Is This a Tight-Money Recession?

I think so too. I found this quote from review of book: https://taylorpearson.me/bookreview/fail-safe-investing/ Stocks take advantage of prosperity. They tend to do poorly during periods of inflation, deflation, and tight money, but over time those periods don’t undo the gains that stocks achieve ...

Hmm. This is now a good problem to have! Most of my gold is physical. How do I actually take advantage of this? Am I buying puts on GLD as a method of rebalancing? Mine is all IAU... My 4x25 HBPP gold is about 28%. Should I rebalance at 30% or wait for possible 35%, as 15/35% my rebalance bands. I'm in the same boat/been wondering the same thing. I wish I had rebalanced out of bonds right after the COVID market shift as some here did, so hoping to take advantage the volatility ...
