Re: Logistics of Large Quanties o Physical Gold
I am using the secure notes feature in LastPass to let my executor access all my secrets Do change your passwords, Dave. See my sig. I use KeyPass, which I store in dropbox. Anyone know any security risks with it? I was always apprehensive about LastPass which prevented me from ever deciding to use...

Re: Logistics of Large Quanties o' Physical Gold
I am extremely weary of anything that aggregates passwords that is not in my control, because I do not want to think about WHEN it gets hacked. But I am definitely open to hearing otherwise. I recently heard of a local unix password store / encrypter. I think it is called pass. https://www.passwords...

Re: Another Gold ETF post
Agree with the general feeling on a Chinese holding company. However, I think the location, local laws in effect and the auditing/auditor is probably more important. If the vault is in the US or UK with a western auditing firm I'm not that concerned. Move the vault to Bejing, use a non-western Euro...

Re: Hunter Biden
Just jumping a bit on the Hunter Biden thing. I can’t fully understand why influence peddling to the tune of a few million dollars is causing everyone to clutch their pearls in shock. Jared Kushner and Ivanka did that in spades out in the open. Everyone does that. It’s how the world works, unfortuna...

Listen to bigger pockets podcast and join the comminity, they have excellent people on the podcast. Some do “syndication”deals where they pool money to buy a specific multi family investment. They usually return about 8 percent plus a portion of the sale (usually around 70 percent).

Good question. I'm a fan of his although he kind of fell of my radar until I just saw your post.johnnywitt wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:53 pm I was wondering if the Charles Hugh Smith who writes the Blog "Of Two Minds" is the Charles Smith who worked with Harry Browne & Terry Coxen in the 80's and 90's.

Re: IBonds over the limit - Gifting
Just gifted but stuck to a 10k per person. I may just turn around and convert the gift in January. That's the way I am leaning as well. It's been great to get some more 9.62% I-Bonds but I don't like that it adds a level of complexity that my wife is likely to struggle with if I pass. Trying to kee...

@joypog is talking about the recently ousted British Prime Minister. I believe it was the shorted tenure in British history. Also it’s interesting to watch everyone freak out in Europe about skyrocketing prices of fuel etc, etc… When this could be forseen at the beginning of the NATO response to Rus...

Re: All-weather portfolios - Further resources?
Thanks for the pointers. I've made a note of the two advisors, and Faber's PDF is a good overview for newcomers to the idea of lazy portfolios. I do wonder what Harry Browne would think about the PP in this environment. The US debt seems unpayable at this point, and there appears to be zero inclina...

I took a look at RPAR and UPAR. They are down 32 and 40 percent respectively. So maybe not a good hedge to the broader market.

Just heard a good podcast MorningStars “The Long View” They we’re interviewing Dana Anspach who runs a retirement planning firm called sensible money. She seemed very good. Also Cody Garrett from Measure Twice Money seemed good. I think they are both fee only.

And there are a few pro-life women. A poll asked if I'd be ok with my CA tax dollars being used to bring women here for abortions. I said sure, grind em up we need stem cells. Newsom spent $100,000 on DeSantis' opponent, instead of using that money to help Californians https://www.youtube.com/watch...
