Black Mirror
There's a new episode of the Black Mirror available on Netflix called "White Christmas."
The entire series (all 3 seasons) have really great, original, creepy science fiction (like a modern-day Twilight Zone) but this episode is particularly good.

Re: Official Fargo-Only thread
I think that season 2 was better than season 1. Season 2 was some of the best television I have ever seen. If you go back and watch it a second time, there are all sorts of details that you probably missed the first time around. Brad Garrett's explanation of his shampoo preferences takes on a lot ...

Re: LEAPS PP
this my humble opinion... i do love the PP... however i think gold is dead i dont think it will rise again for at least 10 years... That may or may not be true. But if you look back at the bear market of 80's and 90's, there were still years where gold had positive returns. Hopefully you keep us p...

Re: LEAPS PP
Had a few questions and idea At some point was this up greater then 30 pct for the year? Thanks for your interest. I've been dying to discuss this with someone! For the last 3 years the returns were 3%, 85%, -58%. Because options obviously expire, it's not like you can just stay the course when t...

Re: Poll: HBPP Component Predictions for 2015
The black line on the chart is the 10-year moving average of the real returns (not the CAGR). It shows that the PP is continuing to do its thing, even though we have experienced two years of negative real returns in the past three years. The real CAGR over the last 10 years has been 4.86%. Great ...

Re: LEAPS PP
I will have SLV, GDX, and GDXJ LEAPS all expiring next month which I bought 2 years ago under the assumption "they can't go any lower!" All are massively underwater and have zero value. I see from your previous post you were up well for the 2014 year. And down for the latest. Par for the course. ...

Re: Vanguard reopens Federal Money Market Fund (VMFXX)
Although not a money market fund, I think VFISX is better. It's almost purely US treasuries, just of slightly longer duration, so subject to a little bit of interest rate risk.

Re: Any Changes for the New Year?
You may recall my intention was to revisit the 25/25/25/25 allocation in January, thinking about switching to a Golden Butterfly or similar variant -- at a minimum adding some level of small cap and/or international. The more I look at the current markets, the more I am convinced that 2016 will be ...

If you're having a rough time with this year's performance, just keep in mind that every prior down year has been followed by a double-digit (positive) year.

The Man in the High Castle
Has anyone else watched this show?
It's apparently based on a novel by Phillip K. Dick, and I'm really enjoying it.

I'm going to start mailing all of the notices I get in the mail back to Sprott.
They will have to hire hundreds of new employees to manage this volume of mail.

Re: The PP Interviews
I'm looking forward to hearing it. I would be curious to know what MT's thoughts are on the need to potentially diversify the PP a bit more with some allocation to non-US stocks/bonds, as has been discussed recently in the forum. Although I find the topic interesting to discuss, I remain unconvinced.
