Seriously, Dualstow is a great guy and his absence has me kind of worried. Praying that you're okay, my friend.

Sell In May?

There's an old adage for the stock market that says
"Sell in May and walk away."

Has anyone actually researched this to see if it's good advice?

If it is, this might be a good time to rebalance the portfolio away from stocks.

Take from cash first to avoid tax implications. Then rebalance when cash reaches the bottom of the band.

Re: Bitcoin as a complement or alternative to gold in the PP

I just purchased a fairly sizable amount of GBTC to supplement my gold holding. It's sure looking like bitcoin is replacing gold as an inflation hedge.

Note: This will probably be the absolute top of bitcoin's rise. Lol.

Teachers don't want to teach anymore. They're spoiled leftists who just want their paychecks sent to them at their last vacation spot.

I believe a better question is are the Covid numbers over inflated? Why are there virtually no cases of the flu? These are fair questions.

Cuomo is being driven out by progressives because they want to have control of the tens of billions of dollars that will be incoming from Washington. It's a bonanza for them and they want to use it for their social experiments.

I got my 2nd Pfizer shot 2 days ago. Arm is still sore but diminishing. I definitely felt weak, kind of like flu symptoms and I'll take it easy for another day or two. I can still feel the effects from the shot.

Re: Vanguard Treasury MM investing in repo agreements

@ Maddy: The risk of using a Treasury money market fund that employs repos is very small. I use FDLXX, Fidelity's Treasury money market fund specifically because it does not invest in Treasury repos. However, kevin K is correct: FDLXX has a 0.29% net expense ration, or slightly more expensive than ...

Re: Is the PP Meant for Alt Right Extremists Only?

As a long-time registered Democrat, I’ve been disheartened by the scourge of alt right extremism we’ve had on this otherwise mostly common sense centrist forum. Although no surprise since the PP was invented by a lunatic who didn’t want car companies to install airbags or seatbelts because he wante...

Is that nutty? Or does it make sense.
I'd probably buy it 2 to 4 weeks from now.
Don't buy airline stocks. Ever.

I've been hearing a lot about competitors for Bitcoin springing up (I think I read about China starting a crypto currency), so that's enough to make me avoid it for now. At least with gold you know there is only one source for it - that which already exists or can be mined from the earth's scarce n...
