Re: Trump reelection bid

I mean, given the poll result, it seems that most folks would agree that Trump did not carry himself honorably after 2020. Maybe, but that’s not the question that was asked in the poll. Henced my couched phrasing. Is there anyone that wants to argue Trump acquitted himself well during that period?

Re: Trump reelection bid

It's pretty pointless to debate the last two Presidential elections or the aftermath of either of them. Like so many other issues, people have chosen their side and will see or not see whatever they want to. They are literally watching two (or more) different movies on the same screen. It's pointle...

Re: Trump reelection bid

It’s hard to take you seriously when you make mountains out of Dem GOP missteps and minimize GOP Dem transgressions. Right back atcha Bro. Explain how HRC’s words and actions are equivalent to instigating a riot at the capital after months of lying about the election results. I wasn't talking about...

The issue is whether people believe their vote mattered. Re: Trump reelection bid

Our current federalized system at least diffuses power and control in a way that might be more resilient, messy as it is. My problem with national “improvements” is that it would invariably centralize the system and who is gonna trust the feds when their side loses? Ultimately it comes back to that ...

Re: Synthesis of the PP and GB portfolios

I remember hearing a narrative that we are actually in a secular deflationary environment - that's why all the government money printing was only getting us 2% inflation (until last year). But fund managers are always good at talking a good story....hence the appeal of a risk parity portfolio which ...

Re: Trump reelection bid

Look at it this way: Trump has exposed a flaw in the system. Let's button it up so that a narcissist like him can't make the outlandish claims he's making. You simultaneously give Trump too much and not enough credit. You're giving an arsonist credit for proving a building could be burned down....b...

I agree with your contentions about Stacey Abrams and Clinton - I brought Abrams up in an earlier post. I was in Berkeley over the 2000's so I know very well that the left can be election-skeptical. However, they weren't the Democratic party mainstream. We're not talking about weed smoking art stude...

Re: Trump reelection bid

On perception, agree it’s important. But, I think it’s fair to expect people to use some common sense and go with the weight of evidence. when 50+ judges all agree on the same thing people should be able to figure out they were lied to. No? One would hope. If it's not a naive sheeple populace, then...

I don't think Term Limits are nearly as important as some sort of voting system that doesn't result in politicians appealing to the crazies in their party. I actually think institutional knowledge and experience can be a great benefit - if they are willing to work with the other side. Which isn't ha...

It doesn't seem appropriate for Disney to advocate marketing homosexuality to kindergarteners. Regardless, it's Disney that's out of its lane here, no? Yeah, I don't think that's appropriate either. Have you listened to Frank Vasquez at the Risk Parity Radio podcast? Bill Maher has said enough edgy stuff (after all he's a comedian) that he's been long dismissed by the left. I think the most convincing anti-wokester that has an outside opportunity of reaching them is John McWhorter. But he holds his temper well and he's pretty orthodox liberal so there isn't much...

For what its worth, my PP/GB inspired portfolio is split 6 ways in order to include international stocks as one of the equal parts to go with the GB I think some home country bias is justified, especially since the US is currently 60% of the equities market, but I'd like some direct exposure to the ...
