Re: I'M OUT!

I'm really sorry, you guys. I'm just feel incredibly defeated about what's happening, and last night it was really getting to me. It's the long bonds that are the real nut-buster. They're down over 30 percent, and even after reading Tyler's piece, I still don't see a plausible path to recovery. And...

Sorry, Vinny, I may have been unclear. I'm not asking for your opinion of Naomi Wolf. What is your opinion of what she is saying here? He didn't have an opinion on Naomi Wolf. Wikipedia did. It is my perception that Vinny has no opinion on anything and no ability to critically think on his own, onl...

Where will these funds come from? The Fed will create them obviously.

So basically, it was a lie that taxpayers wouldn't fund the bailout. That dang inflation....

Here is what HB has to say on the topic. . . For the Permanent Portfolio, a stock-market investment should have these attributes: The Permanent Portfolio's stock-market investments, as a group, should reflect a broad spectrum of American enterprise; they shouldn't be tied to a signle industry or na...

Re: Trying to Understand Wide Divergence in Quotes Between Platforms

I'm hoping that someone can explain to me why, at any given time, the quotes on particular securities vary so dramatically between platforms. I have money at Fidelity and Ameritrade and use both of those platforms to monitor what's going on in the market. This morning, I was (once again) stunned by...

Thank you, I see the distinction now. And I agree, to a point. The 1980s was a grand experiment in trickle down economics, and while the idea hasn't been totally discredited, I think there are differing opinions on whether enough trickled down such that society as a whole was lifted. I'm kind of gl...

What is income inequality? More fake news. Should a McD burger flipper make the same as a doctor, lawyer or engineer? Those professions required years of expensive schooling and lost wages during said schooling, not to mention hard work. You know who is underpaid? People who work dangerous jobs. No...

They have a million and one ways of taking away your wealth. They can crash the stock market on a whim, Speaking of this, I owned ADR shares in Russian oil company Lukoil for several years. I found it sold at much lower multiples than oil companies in the West and I assumed that the risk would be f...

One of the more concerning aspects of central bank digital currencies--which many predict are all but inevitable--is their capacity to be programmed to expire after a certain period of time. That would suck. Use it or lose it perishable money? I have read of implications far worse than that. For ex...

Tired of good jobs disappearing. Tired of mass immigration changing their countries. Tired of elites dri...

I have read the website and several articles on these single bond ETFs. I do not get the advantage of owning an ETF that trades into the current 3 month Treasury each month as opposed to just a generic Treasury ETF like SGOV or XHLF that holds a variety of 3-6 month treasuries at much lower expense...

Total return always is the guiding force as how much you can take and there is no difference in down markets doing it via dividends or not . You may prefer one way or another but to make a claim dividends are better because ...

I don't see anybody saying that the value of a stock wouldn't be higher if the company didn't pay a dividend. Except of course for all the dividend investors who would dump it. I also don't think there's a thing wrong with a company being an engine that throws off money. That is, after all, the poi...
