How do you feel about the riots?
I support the protests but oppose the riots.

Re: An outsiders perspective of the politcal turmoil

I'm mostly lurking this board as there are usually some interesting threads about the PP. Of course I noticed the political threads lately and I've been pretty interested in them. As a Dutch citizen this board gives me a different perspective of what's going on in the US. What struck me is how comp...

I wish everyone well and hope you've been able to enjoy the stability and peace of mind I've had from the Permanent Portfolio over the years. I was happy to find Harry Browne's advice on it so long ago. It's great to see that it still serves the intended purpose of growing ones life savings in a sa...

Smith,

I don't have any good advice (or bad advice, for that matter) for you; I just wanted to let you know that I am pulling for you and that you seem like the caliber of person who will get through this just fine. I hope you will keep us posted!

If it were me, I would go with the lowest premium one ounce coin I could find. Better to take the lower premium now than hope for a higher one on resale.

Re: How do you invest the gold portion?

I am soon to be a Level 4 investor. The book advises that the best way to invest in gold is to own it. What is a level 4 investor anyway? Is that a Robert Kiyosaki book? I think the level 4 investor is a reference to Craig's/MT's book; I want to say that means stocks in via a fund or etf, bonds hel...

Frugal,

If I was a member of an EU country, I would probably keep my stock portfolio in either an all-EU index fund or a total world index fund. Why complicate things?
