Eurotrash nonsense written by a World Improver. (Topics like this make me glad we are not on Bogleheads.) So, we should do something that would kill life insurance companies, investors, and pension funds. BUT, we will then bail them out with our super duper new money. Created from....? In other word...

I walked up 4 flights of stairs while wearing a mask, and it was noticeably harder on me than normal. I don't know if that says more about masks, or me. It was a thick homemade mask. So I hope it was just the mask.

Does it vary between the three approved vaccinations? Would a person have longer immunity with one over the others?
It is not known. We are the testers for that.

Seven hours after shot one of Moderna. No arm soreness, no other effects either so far. Needle was the smallest ever. If I didn’t see it go in I wouldn’t have known. Where did you get it? Strange question, I know. But someone I know needs to find a second shot of Moderna in northern IL after gettin...

Yes I read it that lifting of mask mandates caused a 1 to 2 percent increase in cases, and the same for in person dining. And they are reporting that as “significant”.

I actually hoped masking was reasonably worthwhile.

As a libertarian (with a small l by the way), I agree that Amazon or the foundation can stop selling the books. That doesn’t mean the reasons are not incredibly moronic. Are libertarians not allowed to talk about that? I think you have a dumb, caricature-ish view of libertarianism. Has anyone here c...

Re: Why a housing scarcity?

I think the pool of potential homebuyers has increased noticeably over the past year due to people taking money they normally would have spent on vacations and social outings (sports, concerts, restaurants, and bars) and redirecting it toward home down payments -- whether for a first home, second/v...

On a nationwide level we never did get back to trend on home building (i.e. a trend that would roughly keep up with population growth) after the start of the Great Recession. To be fair we did need to (for a little while) stop building so many homes as the trend was above population growth during t...

The NYC apt market makes sense. Never considered AirBnB! We have our snowbird AZ home under contract. It's becoming a bidding war thing here. Why a housing scarcity?

All of these people wanting houses today. Where were they living? Are those places emptying? Are rents dropping? Are purchase prices dropping for rental homes and apartments?

Or is it due to interstate moves?

What percentage of people over 65 die in the next month in normal times? It’s greater than zero. In any population getting vaccinated, some will die the next day or within the week, even if they had gotten a placebo. Need to see the causation.
