What is “deep cash” exactly?
In some posts people refer to deep cash. Is this part of the overall 25% portion of the PP? Or is it additional to that 25%, like a variable cash portfolio?

Really? The article seems super sensationalized and based on only 1 data point. Did it mention the stock market? Here's an article from 24 July that discusses the all time high of the stock market https://www.google.com/amp/m.economictimes.com/wealth/invest/equity-market-is-at-an-all-time-high-here-...

Re: Modelling TLT in an Era of Rising Rates, part 2
In all fairness, you need to consider cash and bonds as one block, even so, the results aren't pretty. I am a big proponent of cash + 10 year Treasury, average duration about 5 years. Why is it necessary to consider cash and bonds as one block? Not necessary, but a worthwhile mental model. Cash and...

Re: Treasury ladder
Clarification: the ladder takes 2 yrs to "setup " - 2 yrs for ALL rungs to reach 2 yrs. This investment would be for "secondary" cash since I feel OK with holding cash (that I would draw on first/regularly) in a high yield savings account. I appreciate the comment about keeping i...

Treasury ladder
Would a two-year treasury ladder (eight rungs, each three months apart) be considered equivalent to cash, SHY, etc for the cash portion of the PP?
To clarify: it would take two years to set up the ladder, and then every three months the proceeds of a two year treasury bond would be available.

Re: Dual Momentum GEM + HBPP a great combo, easy to test
Correcting my earlier comment: the Fidelity funds (at least the S&P 500 Index and Global Ex-US funds) do not currently have short term redemption fees. It seems like I saw that on FSBAX or FSTMX at some point, but I may be remembering only PRPFX. However, they have very clear rules against exce...

Re: Dual Momentum GEM + HBPP a great combo, easy to test
Fidelity explained that the early redemption fee is a decision by the fund manager. If a fund manager feels he needs to hold the money for a specified period I n order to boost performance then he is able to make the restriction, charge an early redemption fee.

This website updates the signals for this strategy. (And some other ones also). So at the first of each month you can easily see which fund to choose.

Still trying to understand LTT
The first thing that one learns about bonds is that there is an inverse correlation between yield and price. And that the longer duration of the bond the greater the change in the price as the yield fluctuates. So how come yesterday my 30 yr Treasuries went down in both price and yield. (BTW TLT wen...

@ochotona. I just noticed your post count is "1200." Hope that will be a good omen for you. If it goes to 1200 I would also be a buyer.
