Re: Permanent Portfolio Failure?

I can see comparing other conservative models but certainly not comparing to high equity Wellesly income , a great conservative choice up 8% I've gravitated my retirement accounts to Wellesley and I'm very happy with it. Wellesley adds diversification to my portfolio. Of course, I'm retired and not...

Re: Schemes for maximizing cash returns

How's this for a scheme? You buy CDs using a 2% cash back credit card and you instantly have a 2% tax free return. I know someone who's been doing this for years. You're talking about certificates of deposit, not compact discs, right? How do you buy CDs (the certificates) with a credit card? He has...

Re: Gold ETFs old and new

I bought PHYS years ago and dislike it but I don't want to pay taxes to switch out of it. I guess I'm stuck. PHYS is a Trust & therefore isn't taxed at the Collectibles rate: it is taxed like any other ETF. For the PP, I've got all stocks and LTTs in the tax deferred accounts and SHY+IAU in a broke...

Cruz called the people who entered the Capitol "violent terrorists" yesterday and probably ended his career.

Brbk has lagged for 20 years and that is pretty much over all time frames , 3,5 10,15,20 years .

so it has compensated its investors not so well …one year means little if it can’t keep it up
It's the only year I've owned it. :)

Re: Berkshire Hathaway

Brkb is up about 28% this year and pays zero dividends, making it a nice buy and hold in a taxable account. It's had a fine year but lagged before this. I sold my Amzn to buy it nearly a year ago.
