Re: Ray Dalio video Principles for dealing with a changing world order.

25% Gold held off-shore. Any thoughts on this since the Perth mint doesn't seem quite as appealing as it once was? Research SGPMX. I have had very good experiences dealing with them. A family member also went to Singapore to physically remove some gold from the vault to check if they are legit. The...

Re: Russian PP

HB addressed this in his radio show when speaking to an Indian caller. He stated that " If everything went kablooey you still had your gold." Over the years I have come to the opinion that the PP is a failsafe portfolio, not an invincible one. In any of the four economic climates, it will ...

Re: Ray Dalio video Principles for dealing with a changing world order.

Great video. The PP is designed to work when the USA is "on top". If that time is coming to an end, potentially quickly (as Dalio says, it starts slowly and then moves quickly), what should we do? Probably what non-US PP holders do. Eg 25% VGS, 50% VBND, 25% Gold held off-shore. Maybe som...

Here's the official version. https://www.health.gov.au/health-alerts/covid-19/case-numbers-and-statistics Also check out the requirements for the particular states as they keep changing the rules. Double vs Triple vaccinated etc. South Australia is the freest, Victoria is the Stasi State ;) https://...

Wasn't it briefly preceded by safer steam power? (Albeit not in today's regulatory environment)
Yeah, that's true, the earliest cars were steam or electric. But then they figured out how wonderful gasoline is..

Re: Freedom Convoy ‘22/ Canada Trucker Protest

Its funny that the US needs Canada to show it how to fight for freedom. Man I hope the US can come roaring back. But it's not looking good at the moment. Thank you Canada. Also Trudeau makes me want to barf. Canada was starting to go in the direction of Australia. The US was nowhere near as bad (ye...

Re: PP with SCV vs GB

Yep ;)

If I had to choose, I would go with the SCV version over the GB.
Why?
If the bottom dropped out of the stock market, the most I could lose would be 25% vs 40%.
Harry suggested using the most volatile asset in each class if I remember correctly.

Good researching!

Just watched the Grantham interview where he stated both bonds and shares are dramatically overvalued.... Personally, I would take a 1/2 way approach. Purchase 15% Shares, 15% Bonds and 35% Gold, 35% Cash. On any major dips in bond/shares prices, gradually rebalance back to 4 x 25. Living in Canada ...
