I think the biggest issue (which is another way of saying what you're saying, dualstow), is that if you wait a year before using your new machine, you could have gotten a year newer machine for the same money. And that's not counting the 5% you would have earned on your cash during that year.

So many machines are RAM starved. I think it's a major problem with Maca actually. 16GB is just not enough. 64 in my daily driver.

Terrifying.

I do happen to know that preservative-free eyedrops come in individual containers, so that would have been a red flag for me, but that's just luck, basically.

They also have the neat feature of being usable to fund higher education with no tax on the growth, like a 529. Sadly there's an income limit on that. Still could be VERY handy.
