33,3 + 33,3 +33,3 = USPP

Dear friends, Hope you are totally healthy and away from pandemic. I would like to know your opinion about this transformation of portfolio in US-PP. Having only: 1/3 GOLD + 1/3 LTB + 1/3 STOCKS It is a new portfolio to me and I want to add NEW fresh money every year to it, so I don't think I need t...

Re: New Permanent Portfolio book: "Investing Equanimity"

"Investing Equanimity: The Logic & Wisdom of the Permanent Portfolio" I decided to write this book because the only way to truly satisfy my fascination with the concept of the Permanent Portfolio was to just write a book about it and "get it out of my system". I wrote it in such a manner that it is...

Yeah with all the volatility in stocks, the PP is definitely getting more attention. I still get downvoted on Reddit though ;-) Thanks for posting.

Re: Who's had to rebalance?

Yes. I'm still hesitating. I figured that the entire stock allocation, total market + small caps, was still above threshold even though small caps had dropped below the band. No other asset has crossed a band. So - a mandatory rebalance yet. Hi SOPHIE!!! I am adding stocks to rebalance. New fresh m...

Re: EU-PP and PPeers

Frugal Why do you use C13 and MTH ? C13 is an ETF of 1-3 year bonds, and MTH is 25+ year bonds, the longest-bond Euro ETF I can find. If you have other suggestions I would love to hear them. CEU is the MSCI Europe index ETF, but there is also the Eurostoxx 600 as well as individual country ETFs lik...

IMO, either contribute to the lagging asset (which is cash), or contribute new earnings to cash until a rebalancing band is triggered.
Hi Krie

4 x 25 % is your opinion?

NOTE: I do not use cash for REBALANCING.

Thank you mate

Why bother with more complexity. PP is good enough. Unless you want the part-time job of finding, managing, and improving houses.

+1 If you’re into it, frugal, it can obviously be very lucrative. I’m not handy, so I own REITs.

Re: Do you buy land and houses/apartments or pavillions to rent ?

Id rather be all in PP but got pushed into real estate by the hype in 05 With Real estate you can put in time, sweat equity, and boost your return. Plus the leverage. If the true inflation rate is 5%, a 4% mortgage is free money. But you're making a concentrated bet on the demographic future of the...

Re: Do you buy land and houses/apartments or pavillions to rent ?

I bought, rehabbed, and sold a house a few years ago. I was recently on the hunt for a house that I could do a live-in flip with, but ended up buying my current house after the previous owner had done the work, but sold it to me under the market. So I could move out and rent it for fairly big month...

Re: Do you buy land and houses/apartments or pavillions to rent ?

You may wish to research Marc Fabers asset allocation. https://mebfaber.com/2015/06/01/chapter-8-the-marc-faber-portfolio/ It's been a while since I have listened to him, however a few years back he was purchasing land in SE Asia. He doesn't use REITS, so rebalancing may be an issue for small portf...

Do you buy land and houses/apartments or pavillions to rent ?

Hello PP friends!

Do you prefer to keep all your savings in PP or you also diversify ?

I wonder if we should buy LAND, or apartments to rent or pavillions to rent to factories ...

Please advise.

Thank so much.
