Re: Bitcoin in the PP?
I have never heard of such a strategy, but after your post, I will watch a couple of videos on YouTube about this topic, you have seriously interested me in this. In general, I have developed my own strategy for buying cryptocurrency. I do not buy an expensive cryptocurrency like bitcoin and so on....

I’ve been part of searching for the family jewels as it were. No fun to need to sell a house while wondering if you found all the valuables.

Yes under this system we have experienced some novel, spectacular financial crashes. And what do they do? More more more. It’s one of those things in which “more more more” works until it doesn’t. Then it will be very bad.

You have to pick your risks with holding gold. I am still planning to get going on the overseas thing. Per someone's review here, I am looking into SWP Cayman. I like what I see. Is there risk? Yes. So if I do it, it will only be a portion that I can afford to lose.

kbg, are you taking the position that the government hasn't devalued our money, or that they have but it's fine? Yes they have and it's ok but not great by any means. I am taking the position that a hard fixed currency system is heinously bad during a severe recession or depression and far worse ov...

In Melbourne AUS, I don't think you can work out outside. Even with a mask. Hal would know. Mark me down as saying we are on the way out of this when the current surge burns out. What makes you think there won't be another 'surge'? And then another. Think how influenza works, year in and year out. ...

Re: BTC in the PP
I don’t get the government malfeasance stuff. Inflation is not simply a function of money supply. It must be combined with actual goods scarcity to occur and I can’t think of any historical event where the scarcity had anything to do with the currency. Everything for the past 13 years demonstrates ...

If you create a new wallet and I send you some Bitcoin, nobody but me knows that you own that Bitcoin. If you acquire your Bitcoin through an exchange w/ KYC requirements, that's another story. Yeah, you are talking to a crypto illiterate. I mean, I understand the concepts of what you just wrote, b...

In the US you would have to add ...as long as you don't report your holdings. I inquired here (I have never owned any crypto), and was told that the transactions are already very hard to hide whether you are acquiring or selling. I was under the impression that it was basically impossible to trace b...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
I have a hunch that when this fourth wave of Covid burns out in the US, the pandemic will pretty much go away, or should I say taper down to what will be its long term footprint going forward. There will be enough immunity in the population to keep it from surging again.

Remember when herd immunity was going to happen at 65% vaccination + recovered cases? Illinois has 12.5 million people. The state says 56% of people 12+ are fully vaccinated, with 72% having had at least one shot. There have been 1.4 million "total cases", or 11% of the total population. M...

Does anyone here follow libertarian and anti-lockdown anti-mask Tom Woods? It sure sounds like he got Covid 3 weeks ago and is not admitting it. Only saying pneumonia and having a tough recovery. If he has Covid and won't admit it, I'll lose a lot of respect for him. Do you have a source for that i...

Has anyone of medical authority really ever sufficiently answered how Sweden has gone against the world in terms of masks, lockdowns and vaccines but yet has not been dragging bodies out of the streets? This is a real nice interview on that, if you have 40 minutes. https://youtu.be/0017zNe7obo Shru...

It seems to me that most people are planning to get on with life. BUT, I suspect they will grudingly go along with more mandates if that happens. But also, as time goes on the trend will be towards more people saying let's get on with it.

However, numbskulls like this talk all the time, and 99.999% of the time it's just talk. When the police infiltrate and instigate action that wasn't otherwise going to happen, I think that's a real problem.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
As for a "medical authority", how would you even know who to believe nowadays? That's true and it's not just a wacky right wing talking point. Fauci is a prominent example. We don't need masks, they aren't effective in this case. Everyone must wear masks. Double masks are a very good idea...
