Re: Sprott Intends to Make Exchange Offers for Central GoldTrust and Silver Bullion
I'm going to start mailing all of the notices I get in the mail back to Sprott.
They will have to hire hundreds of new employees to manage this volume of mail.

Re: The PP Interviews
I'm looking forward to hearing it. I would be curious to know what MT's thoughts are on the need to potentially diversify the PP a bit more with some allocation to non-US stocks/bonds, as has been discussed recently in the forum. Although I find the topic interesting to discuss, I remain unconvinced.

Let me know if I left anything out. Better Call Saul is fantastic. Mad Men is as good as television gets, IMO I also really enjoyed Bloodline on Netflix. "We're not bad people, we just did a bad thing." Honorable mention: Halt and Catch Fire Silicon Valley Kudos for mentioning Justified,...

It's really a good show.
There is something mesmerizing about watching such bad things happen in such a seemingly innocent place.
I wonder how Dutch will fit in to all of this.

Me too. I think GTU is a great fund. This Sprott bid is very annoying.steve wrote: If Sprott somehow succeeds I plan on selling. I am looking into the Merk Gold Trust called ounz and other alternatives for online easy trading to re balance and will consider holding more physical bullion.

But it's the kind of thing where it could come out in the wash when all the variables play out. It's just much too hard to model all the possibilities so you'd just have to do this a bit on educated decisions....But I think it could provide a good level of protection with increase in volatility how...

I think pretty much every bond in the SAAA etf is a "safe haven" bond though, besides France maybe. Yeah, that might be true. I'll admit I lack sophisticiation when it comes to global economics, but just for the sake of discussion, what do you think would happen to your hypothetical portf...

Re: The Global PP
I think it's an interesting idea and worth discussion, especially for someone who lives in the EU. I would not change your current PP (with 50% bunds and 50% US treasuries) but I would probably add this as 10-20% of the portfolio. I would be more inclined to use and ex-US bond fund though b/c it sou...

Re: Ex-US Boglehead Portfolio
I was thinking the easiest way to achieve this would be with a BH type portfolio that excludes the US. 50% VTIAX (Vanguard's ex-US international stock fund) 50% VTABX (Vanguard's ex-US international bond fund) I'm not planning on doing this any time, but hypothetically I would probably do this wi...

Any other physicians on the forum willing to contribute their favorite examples, or experiences with ICD-10? It's just more time charting and more chances for my chart to get down coded. Ex-US Boglehead Portfolio
The idea of using the VP to add yet more diversity to the PP came up in another thread: From CraigR: If I was in the EU with the present migrant situation and immigration trajectory I would be looking to diversify beyond the EU and the Euro that's for sure. What the pols are doing there is pure suic...

Re: The Reason to Quit PP
actually yes it does matter if gold only responds to crisis when the dollar is weak or we have high inflation because as bernstein pointed out , the flaw in the pp is committing equal amounts of money to anything but equal chances of outcomes playing out . But that "flaw" has never ...

I love holding cash. It dampens the PP's volatility and also gives me a sense of security.
I like knowing that if I need cash I have it readily available.

Re: PSA: I now have a 3-year period with no gains
The caveat is that I've been regularly and aggressively contributing to the PP. So my early gains in 2011/2012 were small as a percent of my current total portfolio value. Losses in 2015 are applied to a much higher portfolio value. Hopefully that makes sense. Don't you see where that logic is f...
