Re: US House to investigate the Bidens et al

Since we can nothing nice in this world, the likely endgame is two discredited presidents vying for a second term in 2024. >:D Do you think there'd be a sizable chunk of people voting third-party in that situation? I think the prisoners dilemma is too strong. I’m on a high from the recent election ...

Re: US House to investigate the Bidens et al

Hey, if there's nothing there, then cool...and if it pushes Biden stage left (assuming he's not shameless like his predecessor) that's fine too.

Since we can have nothing nice in this world, the likely endgame is two discredited presidents vying for a second term in 2024. >:D

Posting an image 4 days after the invasion and reports from 2014...pales in comparison to the unmitigated atrocity of the Russians over the past 9 months. I'm certain there are war crimes going both ways, but every report shows the mass preponderance perpetrated by the Russians. I see why the Ukran...

Re: Treasury Notes (Auction vs Secondary - basically a wash?)

Makes a lot of sense. I'm gonna learn good and hard next April concerning the tax shenanigans cause I jumped with both feet into both the auction and secondary market earlier this year! Oh well live and learn... Moving forward, I think the conversation pushed me towards a rule of thumb of "buy ...

Re: How did YOU vote???!!

Also...I saw a Tweet that said only 27% of the Gen Z populace even bothered to vote. IDK if accurate but a lot of not much ain't much. Yes but what % of their ballots were collected? That's the game now, apparently. Meaning? Meaning that in many states with loose regulations or lax enforcement rega...

Good quip for this Remnant podcast episode with Ruy Teixeira about the basic D vs R perception in independent voters.

Re: Anybody got Beef with the Dispatch, Jonah Goldberg, David French etc.

I think the R primary is going to be by far the most entertaining. Trump will run, but I don't think this time he's going to win. People I know who are MAGA types pretty much understand (now) he has no chance of winning a general. Let's hope. I'm no fan of the Ron DeSanctimonius Troll, but even I a...

Re: Anybody got Beef with the Dispatch, Jonah Goldberg, David French etc.

I thought it was entirely self-evident with Trump so did not believe I needed to say anything simlar regarding him. >:D In 2020 anyone who was not Trump was going to beat Trump. He's never won a popular vote in any election where he is on the ballot and the votes for other Republicans are poor for ...

Yeah...if I had to bet it would be Trump vs Biden round 2...the election no one wants. If I could wishcast, it would be a couple governors who don't waste of energy being trolls like Desantis and Newsome. I doubt we'll be so lucky...maybe 2028. btw Perun on youtube is highly recommended. 1 hour powerpoint presentation about war and logistics every weekend. This most recent one about lies and armies is brilliant. Most likely applicable to corporate life in your own company if you're not yet retired.

Another great article by David French....hoping that this election will signal the wane of the "malice theory" of politics. Overall I think it was a great election result - not so much about the feds (one way or the other) but that all those election denying govs and SOS in swing states ar...

I guess the conspiracy theory is that the Dem operators decided rig their mail-in ballots with Biden at the top of the ticket and vote R's below to cover their tracks?

Re: US Legislative Majority after November 8

Just thinking this morning. Looking at my statewide elections, even as the assembly and senate remains solidly Democrat (likely with the help of gerrymandering). "Boring" Republicans are all likely going to win. Flamboyant loudmouth R's are likely going to lose (especially the election-den...

Re: How did YOU vote???!!

To be fair to the MSM, two things were true: There were major polling errors in both 2016 and 2020 in the D's favor. As such, it was reasonable to discount their non-apocalyptic numbers (which actually turned out pretty accurate). The president normally gets shellacked in their first midterm (9/11 e...

Re: How did YOU vote???!!

I haven't seen public opinion polls on ranked choice but my guess is that a majority of Americans support it at this point. Without it a candidate with little broad support but a fanatical base will win, and that is dangerous IMO. So, another strike against Newsom in my book. I suspect that's the c...

I think it's going to be a Dem bloodbath losing both houses with continued failures in state houses. Also, Trump will declare by the end of the month (which will persuade Biden to run again). Voted "by mail" but dropped off the ballot at a polling location. I'm not trusting USPS with my vote. On specifics, I'm rooting hard for election deniers to lose and for the open primary / ranked choice voting referendum. This referendum has bipartisan party opposition so I suspect there i...
