Re: Online Security

This forum is extremely revealing in the financial sense. I can tell you from experience that it can rub people the wrong way when they know you're well off. I have a colleague who asked what I earned, and I told him. Even though it was less than him , he was jealous for weeks. Because, so he reason...

Re: [EU] Value of short-term bonds as "cash"

I've got a EU PP, and my cash is NOT in a money market fund. As long as my portfolio is small enough to keep it cash in regular savings accounts, I'll do so.

And because in AI there is a known fact that the party who is in front will stay in front (and increase the lead) the obvious pick would be $GOOG.
If you believe in AI, then what about Tesla?

I, for one, welcome our new self-driving overlords.

Re: 2019 Permanent Portfolio Results

My PP is the normal stuff except it's divided between gold, 7-10 yr. European bonds, world stocks, and the cash is on a 0.5% interest savings account (because we've got a negative rate money market here in Europe, Mario Draghi be damned). I'm still overweight on cash, which will be remedied in the n...

Yes. Just the title, of course, says a lot but would have loved to have read it.
I'd expect it to be pretty explosive. Just the title suggests that he perhaps didn't change much in his views on this topic, since "Freedom in an unfree world".

Not strictly PP, I've got 25% global stocks instead of the recommended 25% national stocks. Also, I've got a small VP with crypto and P2P lending, sized to about 4% of my PP.

What is the vegetarian option?
Salads and Egg McMuffin were mentioned but here in Europe, we have some options:

I frequently stopped in McDonald's to buy certain non-meat products What I find super-duper great while traveling, is that I can depend on McDonald's for three things: there is a vegetarian option, decent coffee, as well as a playground for my kid. Could you reveal how you invested each of the four segments (i.e., bought long term bonds or bought long-term bond fund, gold fund versus buying actual gold, and so on)? I'm in Europe, where we have to deal with negative interest rates and a rather lackluster economy. So I've got 25% gold ETF, 25% ...

Re: Question about PP vs 100% cash

It seems to me that there's a limit to the "yield", namely it's bounded by what you consume. On the other hand, the PP its yield is limited to what you have in your investment account. So it probably works in the sub-100K dollar/euro range. Then the PP starts to win. Edit: just read the first link y...
