Re: Self-Driving Cars

Also think of all the valuable time saved by people who basically now will have their own personal driver. Middle-class people will now enjoy what used to be the privilage of the wealthy. This will add years to people's lives that othwise would have spent that time driving, now they can do other th...

These are the last two Letters by Pastor Preus to his dying Father-In-Law and family.  Each Letter, a short chapter in the book "What They Need to Hear" by Klemet Preus tends to build on prior material.  They begin with " Preface " in my August 6 post; the preface discusses the p...

I just scribbled a quick note to myself to bring my own drinks when we party at Dualstow's place.  :) lol. There's plenty of Boyd & Blair potato vodka if you prefer. I tend not to offer kombucha to guests. My parents were over for the first time in a long time and I served them coffee. Thanks a...

Are animals property?  Can we do whatever we want with them?  Does a being that can obviously feel pain and fear have no moral relevancy? They can be.  No.  Maybe (define the set of morals you want to consider). I, too, eat meat.  I, too, have smacked a dog.  I have not shot a grouse (but I have sh...

For those of you who would like to understand more about the Creationists' view of evolution, you may wish to read some of Johnathan Sarfati's books (available at Amazon).  This is the author's background: Dr. Safarti studied science at Victoria University of Wellington. To add to that, there is no demand until production takes place. You can't demand what hasn't been produced. There was no demand for iPhones until the first ones were made. It sure seems that iPhones, after the first or second model, have sure been in demand prior to their being produced.  What do ...

I don't really know what I believe on a lot of subjects anymore. Everything seems so much more complex than I used to think. I do think employers will automate away the jobs if labor gets more expensive, but that's sort of orthogonal to the point that the author is making. Fighting the minimum wage...
